About the opportunity Reporting to the Regional Manager, the overall accountability and objective of the Business Development Manager (BDM) is to grow the business in terms of sales revenue, profitability, and improved margin. The BDM will work collaboratively with the franchisee and the customer, to secure a contract, and run a smooth handover process. In doing this, the Business Development Manager will: Develop and actively manage strong working relationships with franchisees, customers and prospects, delivering business growth. Be results driven! Actively seek out new business opportunities to build on already existing leads. Be a team player! Be an active member of the team, pitching in where needed offering support and solutions when required. Deliver on your promises, by delivering proposals and services on time and to standard. Have strong communication and presentation skills. About you To be successful in this role, you will be focussed on identifying, developing, and winning new business and motivated to sell the Jani- King story. This is a business development and sales role requiring the ability to deliver on business objectives with a long- term view to enhanced organisational success. You will be an excellent communicator, skilled at reading your audience and adjusting your language accordingly. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – JANI KING NZ POSITION DESCRIPTION Role: Business Development Manager (BDM) Reporting to: Regional Manager Function: Business Development and Sales POSITION OBJECTIVE The BDM reports to the Regional Manager and works collaboratively across the business and with franchisees. The purpose of the BDM is to drive sustainable revenue and margin growth within your defined region, securing local and national accounts. The BDM will support the process by identifying new opportunities, securing contracts and running an effective and efficient hand-over process with franchisees ensuring a high level of continuity of care. In doing this, the BDM will use strategic, commercial and creative thinking to consider how products and services may be introduced to new customers. The BDM will support the business by working closely with others to draw on ideas and initiatives for further analysis and assessment, and target possible accounts to convert into sales. COMPETENCIES – SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE In order to be effective in the position the BDM shall have and be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience: • Capability in developing and executing business development strategies. • A career history in business development with a high-level success rate in converting leads into fully signed contracts. • Be confident in measuring surface area in order to accurately calculate the cleaning rates to the measured area. • Have a clear understanding of financial concepts and ability to manage costs according to agreed objectives. • Have a proven track record of successfully influencing outcomes. • Experience of influencing outcomes and collaborating with others to formulate ideas and initiatives. • A strong grasp of the English language to clearly communicate with internal and external stakeholders. • Have an intermediate competency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and Maximiser. • Has a sharp eye for detail. • Hold a full driver’s licence.
