FROM WAUKESHA CATHOLIC FACULTY AND STAFF...Dear Waukesha Catholic Families:
Merry Christmas! Although this has been another challenging year for our school community, we do
have so much to be grateful for, as well. We are blessed to be a part of such a loving, generous, and
gracious school community. We are blessed to have each other! WE ARE BLESSED!
I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas, a Blessed New Year, and some time of rest
and relaxation. Know you all continue to be in my prayers!
A few additional updates/resources to share prior to break:
Personnel Updates:
Unfortunately, Lisa Chapman, librarian at St. Mary Campus and Middle School teaching
assistant, has resigned from her position and will not be returning after the holiday break. She will
be taking this time to travel back and forth to Michigan to care for her father who is ill. Although
we are very sad to see her go, we feel blessed to have had her these past few years and are so
grateful for all she has done for the students and staff of Waukesha Catholic. She will be missed!
Lourdes Marquez has been hired as the bilingual teaching assistant at the St. William Campus.
She will start in this new role on Tuesday, January 4. We are delighted to have Mrs. Marquez join
our school family.Parade Resources: Catholic Memorial has received a grant from the Department of Justice and Office
of School Safety to secure important resources for your use during Christmas break and special
training for staff and parents of both CMH and Waukesha Catholic when we return in January.
To support your children, your family, and yourself during the Christmas break, please refer to the links
and PDFs below:

We will also be hosting a joint Parent Night planned for Wednesday, January 12 from 6:00 p.m.–7:30
p.m. in the InPro Athletic Center at Catholic Memorial High School. It is open for all CMH and
Waukesha Catholic parents as well as alumni parents. We will hear from experts in Trauma Informed
Care about how to help your family through this or any trauma you may experience. Please plan on
attending for important information and additional resources.
COVID-19: As you are likely aware, we have seen a steady uptick in COVID cases at Waukesha Catholic
the last week or so. We anticipate this trend to continue over the holidays. Therefore, we are asking
you to carefully monitor your child for any COVID-related symptoms. Please do not send your child
back to school if he/she develops symptoms. Use the DAILY HEALTH SCREENING, and keep your child
at home if he/she has symptoms that require you to do so, and contact your doctor for a COVID test
or alternate diagnosis. All siblings that attend Waukesha Catholic will be required to stay home, as
well. Sending a child to school with possible symptoms, even if for a very short amount of time, puts
everyone in contact with that child at risk of exposure or being identified as a close contact.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Lisa Kovaleski

FROM DEVELOPMENT...
As 2021 comes to an end, we hope you will make plans to join us on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at The
Ingleside Hotel in Pewaukee for the Waukesha Catholic Annual Dinner and Auction. Invitations will be
going out right after the holidays so it is not too early to line up a sitter for the night and start talking
with friends about getting a table together!
Dress to impress or dress as your favorite Broadway character! Either way, you’ll have a great time
visiting with friends and taking photos in our new photo booth!
Over the next few weeks, please keep the auction in mind if you are buying adult beverages for your
holiday parties. We will be featuring a Wine and Spirit Pull again this year so a donation of a bottle of
spirits would be greatly appreciated! See the flyer which was sent home today for details on how to
contribute and enter a drawing for two tickets to the event!
