OTHER TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS Finally, some tips and suggestions to help make your Dog Birthday Cake the very special surprise you want for your dog. ● Make sure that your dog’s birthday cake is fresh for the party. Make it no more than 24 hours ahead of time and store it in a cake holder with a lid. ● For the baked cake only recipes, store them in a cool dry area. ● For no-bake cakes or those with frosting or icing, it is best to place it inside the refrigerator to maintain their freshness. And your ice cream cake needs to be stored in the freezer! ● Be sure to avoid toxic or unhealthy ingredients like chocolate, white sugar, artificial sweetener, coffee, garlic, raisins, and walnuts. To be safe, do not use any ingredient unless you are absolutely sure it isn’t toxic for dogs. ● Be very careful if you want to use lit candles as your dog might not be too keen on posing for a photo with them…..instead wanting to get straight into woofing down their cake. Only use candles if under direct supervision. ● When giving your dog a birthday cake, consider cutting back on their other food for that day or take them for an extra walk (they'll especially love that!) When it comes to celebrating your dog’s birthday, you can be as simple or as elaborate as you like. Use the birthday cake recipe provided and customize it to suit your dog’s tastes, or choose one of the alternative options. No matter which cake you choose, your dog is sure to feel the love!
