The tour is fully escorted and includes sighseeing tours in each city and special events for tour members. Evening: Step off the train in the Travel on the Indian Pacific, from Sydney to Perth - one of the world’s great remote settlement of Rawlinna (W.A.) for a fine outback roast dinner under train journeys. Overnight: Comfort Inn & Suites Goodearth Hotel, Morning: Arrive in Broken Hill, an iconic mining town in the far west of Perth. (B,L) outback NSW. Morning: Enjoy a sightseeing coach tour of Perth. See the Governor’s Back on-board, enjoy a traditionally cooked Australian breakfast in the Indian Residence, Parliament House, Perth University, and Perth’s impressive new Pacific’s Queen Adelaide Restaurant. By the time your next meal is served, 60,000 seat multi-purpose stadium (currently called Optus Stadium). Visit you’ll be well into South Australia and travelling by the southern tip of the Kings Park & the Botanic Garden (containing over 2,000 plants) & learn about Flinders Ranges. On arrival in Adelaide, you have a choice of the following W.A.’s amazing wildflowers. Visit Perth’s famous Cottesloe Beach, before included Off Train Excursions: (1) tour of the city of Adelaide; (2) visit Barossa returning to our hotel. Afternoon: Free time. Evening: Enjoy an evening of Valley or McLaren Vale wine regions (seasonal); (3) visit the Adelaide Hills, blues music, at the Duke of George Hotel, in Fremantle, with Jules Boult and including the ‘German’ village of Hahndorf. (B,L,D) High Street, Fremantle DAY 6 Monday 31 October 2022 Perth/Fremantle Morning: Sightseeing coach tour of Fremantle, including a visit to The Roundhouse (originally a prison; oldest building in WA). Also visit the bronze statue of the late Bon Scott (lead singer, AC/DC). Enjoy guided tour of historic Fremantle Prison (a World Heritage site), and visit the outstanding JULES BOULT W.A. Shipwrecks Museum. Afternoon: Free time in Fremantle. You may like to visit The Record Finder, an excellent 2nd hand record store at 43 High St., Jules Boult is an award-winning blues singer, songwriter, Fremantle, with lots of blues records/CDs. Open from 10am to 5pm, 7 days a multi-instrumentalist and recording artist. Jules’ musical week. Evening: Enjoy a fish ‘n’ chips/seafood dinner at Fremantle’s Clancy’s career has taken him across Australia, the United States Fish Pub, where we will enjoy a special performance by excellent local sea and Europe. (B,D) DAY 10 Friday 4 November 2022 Margaret River Morning: Visit Cape Leeuwin, the most south-westerly point of the Australian continent, where the Southern and Indian Oceans meet. See the spectacular Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, mainland Australia’s tallest lighthouse (built 1895). After lunch in the town of Augusta, visit dramatic Jewel Cave (optional) and the beach at Hamelin Bay, where you may see some of the famous Hamelin Bay stingrays. Also visit the Boranup Forest, one of the finest karri forests in WA. Then proceed to the town of Margaret River, located in one of the premium wine-growing regions of the world. Evening: enjoy a fabulous evening of blues music, featuring Jules Boult and His Redeemers, at one of Margaret River’s best music venues. Overnight: Higgins Lane Hotel, Margaret River. (B) DAY 8 Wednesday 2 November 2022 Albany Morning: Sightseeing coach tour of Albany. Visit the Desert Mounted Corps DAY 11 Saturday 5 November 2022 Margaret River Memorial and Padre White Lookout, at the top of Mount Clarence. The raised, tree-top walkway gives you a bird’s eye view of some of the tallest trees on Earth – W.A.’s majestic tingle trees. For those not wishing to do the tree-top walk, there are excellent walks, amongst the giant trees, at ground level (free of charge). Lunch in Walpole. Afternoon: Visit Shannon National Park, where you will see some of the most beautiful forests of tall trees in W.A. On the outskirts of Pemberton we will visit one of the district’s impressive ‘climbing trees’….the Gloucester Tree (used as a fire lookout tree) or the Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree. Then adjourn to Jaspers Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk Whisky Bar, in Pemberton, for afternoon drinks and a fun-filled blues jam The Indian Pacific in Gold Service The Indian Pacific is one of the great railway journeys of the world, travelling across the continent from Sydney to Perth or reverse.
