Riders can travel up to more than 80km/h so a helmet is very important should a rider ‘crash’ (we generally call it falling off our bike). In the peloton each team has a different looking helmet, to help people pick who they are. Whenever you go out for a ride you should always wear your helmet that complies with Australian safety standards – just remember a helmet can be replaced much easier than your head.

You can use images you find online or in magazines or draw and colour your own.
