4 Park District News Special Events 5 our MEDINAH PARK DISTRICT NEWS Mark Y s!! a r Calend MEDINAH PARK DISTRICT’S HARVEST FEST Park District Autumn Program & Events The program options within our Autumn Program Guide are wide ranging and have something for everyone as the Park District continues to offer a full range of fun and interesting programs, events and services this fall. There has never been a better time to join the Park District’s family of participants. We invite all our residents and non-residents alike to peruse the pages of this guide for an activity or program that may be of interest to you or a family member. Improve your health with a Fitness Center, Pickleball or Open Gym membership, participate in a day trip, engage the family in upcoming holiday special events, enjoy our natural areas with a fall walk on one of our many park site trails or take a program you have always wanted to participate in. Whatever your interests, we look forward to seeing you with us this 2022! Saturday, September 10 fall at the Connolly Recreation Center or at a park near you. Park District Receives Certificate of Achievement in Financial Reporting The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the Medinah Saturday, September 10 Park District by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for its fiscal year ending December 31, 2020. The Medinah Park District’s Remembrance Program provides a visible and meaningful way for individuals to commemorate special events and occasions in their lives with a gift or honorarium. The Donor Recognition Tree, with various color leaflets, is currently mounted in the Connolly Recreation Center lobby. Engraved leaflets designate those who have generously gifted to the District or provided a memorial tree or remembrance bench at one of our park sites. A tree is planted at a park of the donor’s choosing based upon a list of available locations provided by Park District staff. The cost of a tree varies according to season and tree size. Trees are only planted in the spring and fall months, in conjunction with the District’s planting schedule. 6 Special Events Special Events 7 Back to School Camp Fire Night @ Medinah Scavenger Hunt (BW) PC Thorndale Park (BW) PC Ages 7-14 MEDINAH PARK DISTRICT All Ages Looking to enhance communication and teamwork between Concert Join us at Thorndale Park for a night of s’more’s, bags, a scavenger classmates and neighborhood friends? Want to strengthen morale hunt and flash light tag. Children must be accompanied by an adult and camaraderie? Experience the surrounding neighborhoods of and provide their own flash light. Pre-registration is required. Medinah with this fun scavenger hunt. Each team will have an hour and a half time limit by foot to collect the items on their list.
