DO YOU QUALIFY? You must be a full time student at AU You must be an active student You must be able to transfer 30 ECTS per semester from your study abroad (some exceptions) You must fulfill specific requirements for the partner universities you apply for (mostly GPA requirement) 3 OCTOBER 2019
PRACTICALITIES Courses It is your responsibility to find relevant courses at the partner institution. Visa Most countries outside EU require a visa. Also important that you check your Danish residence permit, which may lapse if you stay outside DK for more than 6 months. Contact Helle at the International Office, if you’re in doubt (hcs@au.dk) Insurance Mandatory insurance, extra health insurance etc. Accommodation On campus or off campus housing? 3 OCTOBER 2019
HOW TO APPLY Online application opens 1 November, 2019 Choose as many priorities as you like Application deadline: 1 December 2019 for Autumn 2019 + Spring 2020 Application deadline 15. September for Spring 2021 3 OCTOBER 2019
APPLICATION ATTACHMENTS Remember to attach documentation alongside online application! A completed course selection form for each of your priorities. Master’s degree students holding a Bachelor's degree from another university must also submit proof of this. If you hold a foreign Bachelor’s degree, you must further enclose an explanation of the grading scale used in the country in question. Joint Application form – if relevant 3 OCTOBER 2019

COURSE SELECTION FORM This is NOT an application for pre-approval of courses! Do not submit course descriptions. This is to ensure that you only apply to institutions that offer courses which are relevant to your study program. Students who can find already pre-approved courses for their study program in AU GO are welcome to list these courses in the form. No guarantee that previously approved courses will be offered/approved again! 3 OCTOBER 2019
JOINT APPLICATION Different Faculties – different rules! Arts and Health: Talk to your coordinator before applying. BSS and ST: 1. You and your fellow applicant must both submit the individual electronic application, and tick box for joint application. There will be a field where you must note the name of your fellow applicant. 2. Submit the exact same list of priorities in your individual electronic applications. 3. Complete, sign and upload the document ”Joint Allocation” in each of your individual electronic applications. 3 OCTOBER 2019
ALLOCATION CRITERIA Criteria of Allocation for Exchange positions differs between faculties: GPA Specific requirements – check AU GO or ask AU coordinator Seniority of study Distribution across study programs Kindly note: Once allocated a position, you cannot change it! If you want to withdraw you application please notify us ASAP or the position will be lost! 3 OCTOBER 2019
APPLICATION RESPONSE Application confirmation: You will receive an electronically generated confirmation by email when submitting your application. This confirmation contains a copy of your application. Position offer: You will receive a reply to your application in the middle of January 3 OCTOBER 2019
AFTER ALLOCATION You apply for pre-approval of courses at your department Your AU coordinator will nominate you to your host university You will receive application information from your AU coordinator or your host university Take language test if required by host university You apply to host university yourself 3 OCTOBER 2019
APPLICATION TO HOST UNIVERSITY Documentation attachments to your application for host university: Application - paper or on-line Transcript of records Language proficiency proof, if required Other specific requirements – e.g. learning agreement, recommendation letters, bank statements, health statement, insurance documentation etc. Please note that AU cannot guarantee you acceptance at the host university. The host university is entitled to singlehandedly decide, which students they will admit. 3 OCTOBER 2019

FINANCING YOUR STAY ABROAD If you receive SU, you can receive while abroad if the courses are pre- approved If you apply for exchange in the Nordic Countries or Europe, you are automatically taken into account for an Erasmus+/Nordplus grant (200- 370 EUR per month) If your exchange is outside Europe, you can apply for a faculty grant (400 – 7000 kr in total) Check out our budget examples – if money matters there’s a big difference between e.g Sydney and Warsaw 3 OCTOBER 2019

THE ERASMUS+ PROGRAMME European Commission Programme 32 participating European countries Grants for student exchange and internships Currently grants of 385-425 Euro/month for internships You can receive Erasmus+ grants for studies and/or internships: up to12 months during your BA up to12 months during your MA 3 OCTOBER 2019
WHERE CAN I GO? Your internship must take place within the 32 participating countries (not Denmark, Greenland and Faroe Islands) Your stay can take place in e.g.: Private or public companies NGOs Embassies and consulates Reseach Centres NOT in organisations managing EU programmes 3 OCTOBER 2019

REQUIREMENTS Your internship should last minimum 60 days (and up to 12 months) You need prior approval from your board of studies (as a rule minimum 20 ECTS per semester) You MUST have a liability, accident and health insurance during your internship (AU cannot cover you) NB: Remember to contact the SU office at AU if you receive SU before you go abroad 3 OCTOBER 2019
HOW TO APPLY FOR ERASMUS+ GRANT The application holds 2 documents: 1) the application form for the Erasmus+ grant (be aware of deadlines) 2) the Learning Agreement for Traineeship (EU document) with info on the place of internship, your duties, number of ECTS recevied and signed by all parties You The place of internship Your academic supervisor Send application and Learning Agreement to Sara Eaton: solholm@au.dk 3 OCTOBER 2019
DEADLINES 2 annual application deadlines 15th November (for internships in the spring) 15th May (for internships in the fall) You can send in your Learning Agreement after the application deadlines. CHECK LIST: HOW TO… Find and organize your placement Apply for prior approvel by your board of studies Check-out the application deadlines for the Erasmus+ grant relevant for you Fill in the application form and learning agreement and send them to solholm@au.dk After the application deadline you will receive a contract by e-mail that you will need to sign and return Take the mandatory language test online(if your main working language is not your mother tounge) Arrange for liability, accident and health insurance Enjoy your internship! 3 OCTOBER 2019
