QT2 SYSTEMS PRESENTS TRAINING CAMP ATHLETE GUIDE A COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO YOUR FLORIDA TRAINING CAMP EXPERIENCE
WELCOME Our Coaches are excited to welcome you to our Annual Florida Age Group Training Camp. This comprehensive guide will help you to arrive prepared for a full weekend of training that will set the tone for your upcoming season. One of our most important objectives is to enhance your ability to execute the details. We'll cover nutrition techniques, equipment selection and maintenance, daily performance environment, restoration, control of emotions, proper sleep, meeting workout objectives vs racing them, and the ability to inspire and impress your peers. Please arrive relatively fresh with your two days of training prior to camp lighter and orientated towards active recovery. We can't wait to see you! Coach Tim, Coach Jackie, and Coach Eric
HQ & LODGING HAMPTON INN - 2200 EAST HIGHWAY 50 - CLERMONT, FL 34711 Headquarters for Camp is the Hampton Inn in Clermont which is an 8 minute walk from the National Training Center. Please check in to the hotel on the 13th to be ready for training to begin on the 14th. Breakfast is included in your stay!
NATIONAL TRAINING CTR NATIONAL TRAINING CTR - 1935 DON WICKHAM DR - CLERMONT, FL 34711 We will swim each morning at 8am sharp except on Friday which will be later (TBD). The National Training Center is an 8 minute walk from the Hampton Inn and is a fantastic facility to train at.
WHAT TO EXPECT COACH EXPECTATIONS We expect your best effort to follow the prescribed training and execute the details. Operating in a squad environment allows us to judge when recovery is needed versus proactively (and sometimes prematurely) building it into your schedule. We may schedule and/or ask you to do additional sessions outside of the squad depending on your needs. During camp you will have a 1-1 meeting with the Coach of your choice. PEER EXPECTATIONS A squad works together to accomplish team and individual goals. Cheer each other on, offer advice and experience, be safe around one another, and work together. Give your squad your best. INTERNAL EXPECTATIONS Arrive at Camp with your goals for 2022 in mind and how you want to achieve them. Maximize your time at Camp and leave with a solid plan to put all of your new tools to work. This is going to be good.
WHAT TO BRING DRESS FOR THE WEATHER Bring a range of running and cycling clothing for temperatures between 40 and 85 degrees. Typically it is warm but the mornings can be cold so plan for proper layering. NUTRITION Please bring enough of your own fuel and hydration for 4 hard days of training for 4-6 hours per day. The QT2 SAG Vehicle will be stocked with Gatorade Endurance hydration, gels, and blocks for mid-ride re-fueling. YOUR BICYCLE Ideally you will have your bike cleaned and serviced prior to Camp so that it performs without issue. If your local bike shop recommends a new chain, cassette, tires, etc; please have them installed. Clean is smooth and smooth is fast. Most importantly, maintained is reliable. In the event of a bicycle emergency there are three local bike shops: Clermont Bicycles, Trek Bicycle Clermont, and Epic Cycles World
