After School Program 2022-2023 Session I: Session II: Wednesday, September 7, 2022 – Tuesday, January 17, 2022 – Friday, January 13, 2023 Friday, June 16, 2023 $450.00 Village Resident $450.00 Village Resident $500.00 Non-Resident $500.00 Non-Resident **EACH SESSION MUST BE PAID FOR IN FULL AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION** SPOTS ARE LIMITED **SIGNING UP FOR SESSION I DOES NOT GUARENTEE YOUR SPOT FOR SESSION II** You can call our office to guarantee your spot for Session II by registering and paying for it at any point before Thursday, December 1. However please be advised that on December 1, 2022 the registration for Session II will be open to the public. If you come in to register for Session II after it has opened to the public, we cannot guarantee your child’s spot will still be available. PROGRAM DAYS: We do not have program on half days or when school is cancelled. Below is a tentative list of additional days we do not have program: Tentative 2022-2023 No Program Dates: *Dates subject to change if school calendar changes* Monday, October 10 (Columbus Day) Friday, November 11 (Veteran’s Day) Wednesday, November 23 – Friday, November 25 (Thanksgiving recess) Thursday, December 1 (Parent Conferences) Friday, December 9 (Parent Conferences) Monday, December 26 – Monday, January 2 (Winter recess) Monday, January 16 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day) Monday, February 20 – Friday, February 24 (Presidents’ Day/ Mid-Winter Break) Friday, March 10 (Superintendent Conf. Day) Monday, April 3 – Monday, April 7 (Spring Break) Friday, May 26 & Monday, May 29 (Memorial Day weekend) **We will have program on days where after school or evening activities are cancelled by the school district**
After School Program Pick Up Policies Youth Center Pick-Up: Anyone picking up a student from the After School Program must stay in their vehicle in the drive through pick up area. Only staff will be permitted to enter the building. Staff members will be on hand to assist students as they collect their belongings at pickup. **NEW THIS YEAR** When picking up your child(ren) please text us at 716-445-9783 10 minutes prior to your arrival stating your child/children’s name. This is to help us have your child ready with all their belongings upon your arrival, and to keep the pickup line being backed up. Do NOT use this phone number for any afterschool items NOT related to pick up. -OUR PROGRAM CONCLUDES EACH DAY AT 6:00pm.- -Each child must be picked up at or before 6:00pm. -Anyone picking up a child must be able to present valid photo I.D. -Anyone picking up a child MUST be on that child’s approved pick up list. -If you update the pickup list on your account please notify us that there have been changes. -As the parent or guardian you may add people to the pickup list during the year, but you must send it via email, fax or do it in person. PHONE CALLS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. -Children who are walkers will be dismissed at 6:00pm each day unless otherwise noted by the parent/guardian. If there are individuals who are not permitted to pick up your child, our office will need all pertinent legal documentation. *All legal documents submitted to our office are kept strictly confidential. Pick-Up policy for the Gym/Library/ & Field Trips: Additionally, due to policies made by the Hamburg School District, and through consultation with local law enforcement, parents are not permitted to pick their children up directly from the gym or the library. Students will return to the Youth Center at 5:15pm from the gym/library. Please check your After School Program Monthly Calendars for gym and library days. If you know ahead of time your child cannot attend the gym or library because you need to pick them up before 5:15pm, you should… o Tell them not to go to the event that day o Send a note with your child notifying us that he/she is not to attend the event, o Let us know at the front desk prior to that day o Call our office at 649-6170. OTHER NOTES OF IMPORTANCE It’s time for another fun and exciting school year! On behalf of our entire After School program staff, we can’t wait to welcome back all of our friends from previous years and meet all of our new participants. As you get ready for the start of the school year, please keep the following things in mind: -If your child is not attending the program on a day he/she is scheduled to attend, YOU MUST SEND A NOTE TO THE SCHOOL. -Personal Belongings (money, electronics, instruments, etc.): After School staff members are not responsible for a child’s electronic devices, instruments, money or other personal belongings. We do not encourage children to bring I-Pads, cell phones, video games or any other type of electronic device. All money, electronic devices, and other personal belongings that are brought to the program are solely your child’s responsibility. -If it is valuable to your child it should be kept at home.- Items prohibited from the Youth Center: -Pokemon cards/trading cards of any kind -Bey Blades *If your child is seen with any of these items, the items will be confiscated and brought to the office until the child is picked up.* Is your child hungry after a long day at school? You can pack them a NUT FREE snack or, have them grab a snack at our snack bar! A Day in the Life of an After School Program Student! Arrival-3:15-3:30pm Kids begin to arrive @ the Youth Center! How you ask? If your child goes to BVS – Fisher Bus BVS or AES you need to AES –Fisher Bus contact Fisher Bus to CAS & SSPP– Picked up by Recreation Vans secure their UPES – Walk over to the Youth Center with staff transportation to the Cloverbank- Village Residents Attending Cloverbank will be picked up program! by Recreation Van Free time on the main floor, homework room is open, ***Senior Lounge is open once all the kids hang up their coats! *** 3:45pm Main Floor Lights are turned off, all kids sit on main floor for announcements...children given activity choices for the day. 3:45-4:45pm o K,1 & 2 graders can rotate between top floor and senior lounge o 3, 4, 5th graders remain on main floor o Homework room open for ANYONE interested HOMEWORK ROOM IS CLOSED ON FRIDAYS! 4:45-5:30pm o K,1 & 2 graders on main floor o 3, 4, 5th graders can rotate between top floor and senior lounge o Homework room open for ANYONE interested 5:30-6:00pm o All Kids on Main Floor for final dismissal o Homework room CLOSED What can my child(ren) do in each of these rooms? Here are a few examples: Main Floor Senior Lounge/Top Floor Homework Room Game Tables T.V. A quiet, supervised space Snack Bar Blocks with pencils, paper and a T.V. Legos dictionary for kids to work on X-Box Chalk Board their homework before they Board Games Bingo (when scheduled) go home. Puzzles Crafts (when scheduled) Coloring Sheets Wii (when scheduled) Foosball X-Box
