CREATIVE ARTS SPORT & EXERCISE OUTDOOR EDUCATION SERVICE ACTIVITIES CLUBS & SOCIETIES WEEKEND ACTIVITIES King’s offers a vast array of co-curricular activities, unparalleled for a school of its size. The programme operates alongside the academic aspect of school life. Whilst there are not enough hours WEEKEND ACTIVITIES in the day for pupils to take part in all enrichment activities, every & WEEKEND OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES effort is made to ensure that there are as few clashes as possible. Under our Engagement and Development programme, all pupils are expected to take part in a sport or activity for fun, as well as physical and mental well-being. Alongside our main termly sports, we offer the following: aerobics/dance, badminton, basketball, body pump, cross-country, equestrian*+, golf*, indoor hockey, rounders, rugby 7s, table tennis and water polo. CREATIVE ARTS + Equestrian pupils with their own horses or those on the King’s Package will ride three times per week as part of an equestrian MUSIC timetable. COURSES & ENRICHMENT LEITHS SCHOOL OF FOOD AND WINE* Tuesday and Thursday evenings The 12-week certified basic skills course is run in the Cookery Centre by Leiths-trained instructor Patricia Stone. Two parallel classes run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.00-8.30pm throughout the Michaelmas Term and Lent Term. Skills and techniques covered include: knife skills, equipment skills, vegetable preparation and cooking, egg cookery, baking, pastry, working with chocolate, cooking with meat and fish, cooking with mince, dressings, sauces and gravy, pasta and quick bread methods. *ADDITONAL COSTS Most of our sports and activities are offered at no extra charge, however, there are some that will incur an additional cost: ACTIVITY COST Equestrian £25 per 40-minute lesson.
