Ravy’s Biggest Morning Tea

The Ravensthorpe 2021 Biggest Morning Tea was hosted
by the Hospital Auxiliary in the beautiful Community Centre
building and courtyard.
The morning was filled with sunshine, friendship and
fundraising as our community came together to enjoy some
delicious baking whilst raising funds for the Cancer Council.
The fantastic amount of $1,435.80 raised will help to fund
vital research and ensure people with cancer and their loved
ones can access support.
Thanks must go to Denise from Feet With Flair for setting
up her pop-up shop and to everyone who came along or
bought a raffle ticket.
In the lead up to the morning tea the auxiliary ladies kindly
put together some lovely hampers to raffle for the hospital.
Once again there was tremendous support from the
community and this raffle which was drawn at the Biggest
Morning Tea raised $1,659.15.
This money will go towards the purchase of new covid safe
(wipeable) chairs for our hospital residents and their visitors.
The Hospital Auxiliary is incredibly grateful to our wonderful
community and wish to thank everyone for their support.

As writers, we are told not
to use cliches, but to coin a
different phrase to describe
the same thing, e.g. ‘It was a
privilege to know him’, ‘His

attempted to do this with
hilarious results.

Managing insecticide resistance
in diamondback moth
■ GRDC

Diamondback moth (DBM), Plutella xylostella L., is a
significant and highly mobile pest of commercial canola
crops in the western and southern regions.
DBM can rapidly evolve resistance to insecticides and reduced
sensitivity to a range of chemistries is widespread in Australia.
The preferred effective chemistries currently available for
DBM control in canola are emamectin benzoate (ie: Affirm®,
group 6), spinetoram (ie: Success® Neo, group 5) and
Bacillus thuringiensis subsp kurstaki (group 11). Group 28
chemistry could soon be available as an additional mode of
action option.
Low to moderate reductions in sensitivity of DBM in WA have

Managing canopy growth in higher

Crop canopy is not just a good indicator of plant health
