Early Childhood Programs Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) ECFE stands for Early Childhood Family Education. *Parents are the first and most important influence on a child’s physical and mental health, moral values and learning. Early parental influences form the foundation for school success. Research shows that early childhood programs that include parents build protective factors through: • Child development and guidance • Social networks that provide reassurance and support • Connection to community resources that address child, parent, and family needs. ECFE offers you and your children: • Time to grow together through guided Parent-Child interaction time • An opportunity for your child to form early social interactions with peers and teachers • Time for you to learn and connect with other families through Parent Education time ECFE classes are taught by licensed early childhood teacher and Parent Educators. Fridley ECFE utilizes the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress and the Parent Education Core Curriculum Framework. Each class is enhanced by parent and child participation. Any family may attend these classes. A sliding fee scale is used to determine cost.
