A Day Out On 27th March a small picnic was organized for the boarders. The venue decided was the Carbery Acres at Ponta Sahib. Keeping in mind the SOP’s issued, the farm was booked only and especially for our students. Prior to our visit it was ensured, that the entire farm is well sanitized and the food served is proper and hygienic. The students were informed about all the essential protocols to be followed while leaving campus. The Housemaster along with the Ast. Housemaster, PTI and few resident tutors, accompanied the students for the fun-loving trip in the school bus. Soon after reaching the destination our students were welcomed by Mr. Patrick the manager and his wife. They then divided the students Newsletter April 2021 1
into three teams, which were escorted by their teachers. The students enjoyed the splash pool to beat the scorching heat of the sun, followed by some adventurous activities and a walk, of a kilometer and a half to the nearby river. After such fun filled activities, the students were served with sumptuous lunch and dessert which they all enjoyed thoroughly. Later in the evening we started back for the school and children sang various songs. It was indeed a day which filled every heart with joy and enthusiasm. We all are grateful to our Director Sir, Principal Sir, Headmistress maám, Housemaster, Housemistress and all the resident staff members for making the trip special and a success. Looking forward for many such picnics in future! The Prefectorial Team After considerable thoughts and discussion, the boarding committee under the valuable guidance of our Principal Mr. Desmond D’monte, Headmistress maám, Housemaster and Housemistress decided to frame, a boarding house student council body for the boarders. The main aim for creating a boarding house student council body is to maintain discipline, establish cooperation and develop leadership skills in the boarding students. This also serves as a medium of inspiration for other borders, to prove their mettle for future selections. The following students were bestowed with important responsibilities. Keshav Mittal of class XI was appointed as Academic Head, Appoorv Godara of class XI was appointed as discipline head, Akshit Nagpal of class XI was appointed as Activity head, Arnuv Ganguly of class XI was appointed as Mess Head, Taksh Mathur of class XI was appointed as Sports head, Om Jaiswal of class X was appointed as Dorm Monitor, Digvijay Rana of class X as well as Sarthak Bhandari of class IX were also appointed as Dorm Monitor. Their duties, roles and responsibilities were explained to them and they assured to fulfill them with dedication and determination. We wish the new team good luck, for all their future endeavours! Campus Connects At SRCS boarding the academics, sports, health and well-being as well as spiritual connection is taken care of. The students are guided and monitored over preps, encouraged and involved into seasonal sports for building and maintaining fitness. They are supervised and counselled to stay healthy and hygienic and are also enlightened to follow the rituals inculcated in them, by their parents and family members. All these personality traits are polished under the mentoring of their respective tutors, who are guided by our Principal Sir and Headmistress ma’am. Newsletter April 2021 2
This month too the tutors were engaged to bring out the best skills and knowledge in their tutees, in terms of academics, sports and co – curricular activities. Our vision at SRCS is to fulfil the dreams, of all parents who have entrusted us with their children, to develop their personality holistically. The attitude of discipline, courage and punctuality is established at SRCS blended with student centric approaches, in which a child is not forced but is facilitated, to develop a unique and impressive personality for a successful life. All boarders, this month too were made to do their homework on time, clear their doubts, participate in at least two sports and stay healthy and connected to the divine. It is our utmost priority to build citizens who are self-dependent and confident in everything they do. We salute the endeavours of our Principal Sir and Headmistress maám, to provide our students with such a balanced curriculum and best teachers who work tirelessly, to bring out the best in every boarder residing on campus. Tuck Shops the boarding house, is so well planned that students are allowed to play sports after enjoying their tuck. Soon after that, they go for wash and change and then they all enjoy a movie in the common room. It is always planned to give them a break from their regular routine. The students are also allowed to suggest their preferences, in terms of food items they wish to eat and this makes them feel united to the school. The students are later served dinner at night, which is very light to end their day. We are thankful to the entire management of SRCS for providing such opportunities and also making every child feel The school organizes tuck shop for boarding students on every Saturday. The intention behind is to offer some delicious delicacies, to the students staying away from the humdrum of the city life. The management howeveris very particular about the quality and hygiene of the food served to the students. The tuck shop is always a celebration for students, to wear their best informal attire, eat and relish mouthwatering food items. At SRCS the tuck shop also provides the students with an opportunity to spend, some quality time with each other and build strong and eternal bonds of friendship.
