POSITIVE EXPOSURE’s East Harlem Wall of Love VIEW Wall of Love Video: vimeo.com/503649270 In Autumn 2020, POSITIVE EXPOSURE collaborated with award-winning artist Marco Santini to create POSITIVE EXPOSURE’s East Harlem Wall of Love in the courtyard that POSITIVE EXPOSURE shares with The Church of St. Edward the Martyr and the New York Common Pantry at 8-14 East 109TH Street in New York City. This vibrantly colored, geometrically shaped, four-story mural (reminiscent of stained glass) features the word LOVE in over 100 languages, symbolizing that “there is more that unites us than divides us”.
About the Artist VIEW Marco Santini is an award-winning, NYC-based artist, fashion designer, photographer and inventor who draws inspiration from inclusion, positivity and language. In 2007, he received a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistic Anthropology at Brown University, where he was intrigued by the relationships amongst communication, expression and imagery. Santini worked at branding agencies in NYC before fully committing to the arts. His geometric style is expressed through spray paint, paint markers, window markers, acrylics, magazines, textiles and digital art. Santini found his life’s purpose in 2018 to spread love and positivity as a Conscious Creator. He has expressed this through art, education and volunteering. He speaks and paints at schools around the world, teaching students to explore their passions while turning negatives into positives. Call for Art POSITIVE EXPOSURE is calling upon our community to come together and create a public art installation as an extension of POSITIVE EXPOSURE’s East Harlem Wall of Love by Marco Santini. For his mural, Santini used an array of geometric shapes and colors with the word LOVE written in over 100 different languages to symbolize that “there is more that unites us than divides us”. Building on this concept, POSITIVE EXPOSURE is asking the community to submit artwork addressing the theme of LIGHT, LOVE, UNITY and INCLUSION. These colorful pieces of art work will then be turned into luminaries to fill POSITIVE EXPOSURE’s Courtyard and Gallery on February 14TH — Valentine’s Day. Additionally, this installation, and the behind-the-scenes artworks in progress, will be captured via photography and film, culminating in a multimedia experience for global audiences.
