27th Economic Forum Inspires Belief in Community
“This is our time, and we need to take advantage of it,” Jim
Frame (District Superintendent/CEO of Greater Southern
Tier BOCES) advised. Forum moderator for the second year
in a row, Frame opened up the 2020 event with commentary
on the impact of revitalization efforts throughout the region.
“It’s starting to feel very different in this area,” he added.

The 27th Annual Economic Forum, sponsored by Elmira
Savings Bank, was held at the Holiday Inn in downtown
Elmira on February 19. The breakfast hosted 250 Chamber
members interested in learning from a diverse panel of

CVB to Launch Spring Event Promotion

Chemung County has an abundance of spring events and the
Chamber’s Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is looking
to spread the word to both locals and visitors by providing a
convenient place to find out about them.

Over the past several weeks the group has been working
to gather details on visitor-friendly happenings occurring
mid-March through May to include on the event calendar

promoted through a digital campaign and will provide a link
for each event to the organizing group’s website.

Listing an event is free, easy and open to the public. If your
business has an event you’d like to submit that occurs during

“With the launch of the Elmira Infinite Canvas interactive

                                           Participants will also receive a two-year Chamber membership and
                                          other benefits. This program is courtesy of the Empire State Poverty
                                           Reduction Initiative (ESPRI) and the Chemung County Chamber of
                                            Commerce. To qualify, you must be an individual with an in-home or
                                          storefront business that impacts City of Elmira Census Tract 6, 7 or 10. You
                                           must be able to attend all ten classes. You must complete an application,
                                                       interview, and provide two letters of reference.
