Work experience for your Students - Nestlé, NHS and more

This week, two of the more exciting virtual work experience programmes I’ve seen have started
accepting applications - Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Marketing Virtual Work Experience and
Nestlé’s Employability Skills Programme. Part of the reason I think these could be so powerful is
that they both offer a certificate upon completion directly from the employer, which can be used in
future CVs and personal statements as well as potential talking points in interviews!

Neither require any school hours, as they’re taking place in February half term (with all live content
recorded) and are also completely free.

The Marketing Virtual Work Experience runs from the 15th - 19th February and features live
workshops with assignments that will be marked. It covers marketing basics to form a rock-solid
foundation.

I’ve bullet pointed the main areas it covers below:

- Marketing Principles
- Strategy and User Personas
- Marketing Campaigns
- Social Media and Content
- Marketing Analysis
- Career Pathways in Marketing

Apply page is here - https://www.springpod.co.uk/marketing-virtual-work-experience/

As for the Nestlé Employability Skills Programme, it’s a one week programme taking place at the
same time (15th - 19th Feb) and is structured similarly, centred around skills, practices and insight
into the world of work. This programme also has live workshops and assignments. Again, I’ve
bullet pointed the main points of interest below!
- Welcome to Nestlé
- The world of work
- Project management
- Data analytics
- Communication
- Digital Skills
- Getting workplace ready

WCG Worcestershire - Latest news

The latest news from the three colleges in Worcestershire, and how this will affect the progression
of prospective students from across the county.

On Friday 27 November 2020 we announced that Malvern Hills College will cease operations in
August 2021 after a wide-ranging review of our provision in Malvern, Evesham and Pershore was
carried out. Due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, this was brought forward, and the
decision was made to close the college.

As we were not able to re-open Malvern Hills in September, the full-time vocational courses based
there, including beauty therapy, hairdressing and barbering were transferred to Evesham College
temporarily and this move is now being made permanent. WCG will however, continue to offer
provision in Malvern at its Centre for Cyber and Digital Technology training facility at the Malvern
Hills Science Park with our brand new T Level in Digital Support Services launching in September
2021.There will also be some substantial changes to Evesham and Pershore Colleges taking
effect from September 2021.

Evesham College
A new-look Evesham College will be created at our Davies Road campus with a revised full-time
curriculum which will focus on the technical subjects of Engineering, Construction, Hair, Beauty
and Barbering, Motor Vehicle and Digital Arts, including ESports which launched successfully in
September 2020.

Pershore College
As part of a site expansion, our Health and Social Care provision will be relocating from Evesham
College to Pershore College. We will no longer be offering Early Years as a result of this
relocation.

Our large Supported Learning offering at Evesham College will also be relocating to Pershore
College from September 2021, with existing and new facilities available on a range of courses
including Animal Welfare, Horticulture, Prince's Trust and more.
