Welcome to the Denison Family! On behalf of the Center for Global Programs team I warmly welcome you to Denison University! The Guide to Your First-Year is a very important source of information as you prepare for your arrival on campus. In addition to the Guide, our office has created the Supplement for Students Coming from Abroad. It includes information that will help you prepare for your arrival on campus, including the logistics of arrival, orientation, housing, dining ser- vices, health and wellness, billing and fees, and visa and immigration regulations. We also invite you to visit the New International Students page in the My ISS Portal (my.iss.denison.edu) for additional, helpful information. Housing and Dining RESERVE YOUR ROOM AND YOUR MEAL PLAN New students are required to complete a Housing Preference Form before June 1, 2021. The form is located on MyDenison>My Apps>MyHousing. Under “Applications,” new students will com- plete the 2025 Housing Preference Form. Students will be notified of housing assignments by email in late July. Directions for completing the form can be found in, A Guide to Your First Year. Most students will be housed in double occupancy rooms. A limited number of single rooms are available for an increased fee. For questions about housing, please contact Denison Housing at housing@denison.edu. Health and Wellness Student Health Insurance Plan PREPARE YOUR HEALTH DOCUMENTS All full-time students must have health insurance coverage. Student Accounts BILLING, PAYMENT OF FEES, & PAYMENT PLANS For information on how to access your account statement, please visit the Student Accounts website: http://denison.edu/ campus/finances **Important Note -- At the time of this print- ing, the Student Accounts website has not been updated for the ‘21 - ‘22 academic year. The site will be updated by the end of April or early May. Fall Semester charges are billed on the first working day of July. Spring Semester charges are billed on the first working day of December. Electronic Payments: • Families may pay electronically from their checking or savings account. Orientation ATTEND AUGUST ORIENTATION We invite you to begin your college experience by par- ticipating in an arrival program for students coming from abroad, which will take place virtually on the My ISS Portal. This program is especially valuable for students who will transition to a new culture and/or country as they begin their college career at Denison, whether that student is a foreign national or a U.S. citizen who has lived outside of the U.S. The program offers the opportunity to arrive on campus several days before the First-Year Office’s August Orientation program in order to acclimate to the Denison campus and meet and learn from upper class students, faculty and staff members.
