NOTES -The Stompers are now 4-3 all time on opening day. -Davis Cop and Jackson Castillo each had two hits and two RBI in Fri- day night’s victory over the West Coast Kings. -Stomper pitching has struck out 28 batters in the first two games of the season -Brady Routon struck out five of the six batters he retired last night. -Stompers are 2-0 for the first time since 2018 and have started 2-0 three times throughout the history of the franchise. -Saturday June 4th is Community Night presented by Bank of Marin. -Special Guests are Adrian Palazuelos, superintendent of Sonoma Valley Unified School District and Tim Meyers, CEO of Bank of Marin! -ALL Stompers home games will take place at night throughout the 2022 season -CCL play will begin Thursday, June 9 when the Stompers host the Walnut Creek Crawdads. -The Stompers first road game will be Sunday June 12 when the Stompers head to Fairfield to take on the Solano Mudcats at Vanden High School.
ABOUT THE CCL -The California Collegiate League (CCL), a top ranked collegiate summer wood bat league. The league consists of eleven teams, six teams in Southern California and five teams in Northern California. -Founded in 1993, the California Collegiate League is a premier college summer baseball destination. The league is associated with both the National Baseball Congress and National Alliance of College Summer Baseball. -The Southern Division consists of the MLB Academy Barons, Arroyo Seco Saints, Conejo Oaks, Orange County Riptide, San Luis Obispo Blues, Santa Barbara Foresters. The Blues and Foresters are the only two original teams that still call the CCL home. -The Northern Division consists of the Healdsburg Prune Packers, Lincoln Potters, Solano Mudcats, Sonoma Stompers, Walnut Creek Crawdads. -Some notable CCL alumni are Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn, former Oakland Athletics outfielder Khris Davis, former starting pitcher James Shields and Colorado Rockies first baseman CJ Cron. -The Sonoma Stompers have a 46 game schedule. The CCL will host a North vs. South All Star game in July with league playoffs starting the first week of August.

COACHING STAFF MANAGER: #24 ZACK PACE • Zack Pace is entering his third season as the Stompers manager. In his first season, he set a single-season league record in wins, leading the Stompers to an overall record of 57-23 in 2019. • Pace has a career record of 104-42 as the manager of the Stompers. • Pace had a successful career of 11 years and 853 games played across the American Association, Frontier League and Pacific Association. Pace played five seasons for the San Rafael Pacifics and won three Pacific Association Championships with San Rafael, including the 2014 season in which he hit .321. • The outfielder played 349 games for the Pacifics, collecting 336 hits and driving in 148 runs. He also stole 76 bases, drew 285 walks and averaged a .276 batting average over his four years. • In his 11-year career, Pace had a career .268 average, hits 810 in 3019 at-bats. He stole 214 bases and finished with a lifetime on-base percentage of .402. • Zack attended college at Sonoma State and most recently coached at his alma mater under head coach John Goelz in 2007 and from 2014 to 2018. PITCHING COACH: MIKE NUNES • Mike is entering his third season with the Stompers. • Nunes played at Sonoma State in 2004 and was a graduate assistant in 2005, when current Stompers manager Zack Pace joined the Seawolves. • After finishing his time as a GA, he pitched in 26 games for the Mesa Miners of the Golden Baseball League, recording a 3.83 ERA. • Mike spent 2006 and 2007 with the Sioux City Explorers of the American Association, including the 2006 sea- son with Pace. • Since 2015, Nunes has been an assistant coach at Sonoma State, where he assists in coaching the pitching staff. BENCH COACH:CASEY GILROY • Entering his second season with the Stompers after coaching at Sonoma State University for nine seasons. • Led the Petaluma Leghorns American Legion team to their first 30-win season ever, and just one win short of a trip to the American Legion World Series
