The Main Salmon – River of No Return is an Idaho icon inside the Frank Church and Gospel
Hump Wilderness areas. Class III-IV rapids include Black Creek, Bailey, Five Mile, Split Rock, Big
Mallard, Elkhorn, Dried Meat, Chittam, Vinegar Creek, and more. The campsites are among the
best in the West. Visit long-abandoned homesteads and orchards, hot springs, miner artifacts,
and Native American pictographs. The Main has more historic sites than any other Idaho river.
