The Colorado Honor Band Association presents the 2021 Summer Concert Season May 16, 2021 June 28, July 18, June 24, and August 7th
Our Mission: To provide an inclusive instrumental music program that promotes youth development, fosters peer camaraderie, instills respect for culture, and develops a pursuit of excellence. CHBA―A Non-Profit Organization Founded in 1953 Welcome to our Summer Concert Series, our first one in two years. We are grateful you are with us today. The Covid-19 pandemic caused a shut down in March of 2020 and has had a profound effect on CHBA, and of course the performing arts community in general. The consequences of which will be felt for years to come, in both predictible and unforseen ways. Your support and return to the program have been essential as we begin our return to ‘normal.’ We have learned that being together and making music is a gift and should not be taken for granted. We are looking forward to the return of full Summer Camp @ Snow Mountain Ranch June 11 - June 15, 2022. Instrumental music has flourished with the Colorado Honor Band since 1953. From its modest beginnings as a single six-person band, our program has grown and evolved into a full set of concert bands guided by a team of dedicated professional musicians, teachers, and returning alumni. Building upon a foundation of fundamen- tals, we offer a comprehensive music education that includes one-on-one instruction, weekly band rehearsals and master classes, music theory training, workshops, audition experiences, and a variety of performance opportunities. Consequently, CHBA has established a reputation for excellence. The Colorado Honor Band is considered one of the best community opportunities for young students. We en- courage individual achievement and progress, and advocate responsibilities and leadership to aid growth and youth development. The Colorado Honor Band also expects all of our musicians to participate in their school band programs as we view this to be an essential part of their education. CHBA is a supplement, not a replace- ment. CHBA parents are a vital partner in their child’s success. Parents are welcome and encouraged both to attend rehearsals and to support our established goals by volunteering and aiding in money-raising ventures. Parents, students, and staff members forge lifetime friendships through CHBA. Your continued support of the Colorado Honor Band Association is greatly appreciated!
