VOLUNTEERS & DONATIONS

WE NEED YOUR HELP

The Quota Eisteddfod is run solely with volunteers and each year we have more than 470 shifts requiring
volunteers. These priceless people take care of everything from backstage organisation, marshalling,
manning the front of house, announcing, music and much more. We have 3 shifts per day of
approximately 4 hours, training is given.

We would appreciate your help and would especially encourage our dancers and other young people to
assist where possible. It is fun to volunteer and great for your resume!

If you would like to donate cash to be used for Eisteddfod prizes, please enclose your donation with your
entry, and record your donation in the appropriate section on the entry form.

Donations of $300 and over will be acknowledged in the program.

If you are able to assist in any capacity please contact us by email at volunteers@quotabeenleigh.org.au
or phone 0415 045 451.

                                                                                                 Page | 2

EISTEDDFOD RULES

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT EVERY COMPETITOR & TEACHER READS THESE RULES AND CONDITIONS
On entering the Eisteddfod, you will have been deemed to accept these conditions of entry.

In our changing environment, please note that dates and conditions are subject to change. We will
notify you when/if changes occur.

SPECIAL RULES FOR 2021 DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS IN PLACE
1. At Logan Entertainment Centre and Crete Street Theatre we, will be following the Stage Queensland
COVID Safe Plan – you can find a copy here –
    https://www.covid19.qld.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0024/134844/covid-safe-industry-plan-live-
performance-venues-theatres.pdf?nocache-v5. Please note this plan has not been updated to
account for the new rules of 100% ticketed audience capacity and 1 person per 2m2. There may be
changes made to current restrictions as the months progress. Please see here for the current
    restrictions in Queensland - https://www.covid19.qld.gov.au/government-actions/roadmap-to-
    easing-queenslands-restrictions.
2. At Logan Entertainment Centre, there can be no mix between those who are in the back of house
area (dressing rooms and backstage) and those who are in the front of house (audience). We will
have a designated flow with teachers and performers registering at the Quota desk – these people
will not be allowed in the foyer with the audience. We are hoping to have arrangements in place,
where teachers and performers can enter part of the auditorium from the back area, but this cannot
    be assured.
3. At Logan Entertainment Centre, there will be a kiosk set-up in the back of house area to allow
teachers and performers to purchase food (there is no coffee machine available in this area).
4. Other than designated teachers and performers, no other people are permitted in back of house.
5. All those entering the front of house area will need to sign in using the QR Code at the centre.
6. Audience tickets will need to be purchased online to avoid queues in the foyer.
7. Teachers and performers are permitted to go outside, but not into the foyer of the centre.
8. There will be COVID cleaners, spot cleaning throughout all sessions and the stage will be cleaned
    between sessions.
9. The numbers allowed back of house at Logan Entertainment Centre are approximately 60% of
previous years – extra days may be added to the program for our group sections. Depending on the
number of entries, we may also need to close some sections early.
10. As space will be limited, we ask that bags be kept to a minimum. Please avoid changes of hairstyles
between performances. Hair spray is not to be used in dressing rooms.

NEW ITEMS FOR 2021
1. We are using Music Uploads - music for all sections of the Eisteddfod is to be uploaded. Music
Uploads are working on an enhancement to allow sheet music to be uploaded and this should be
ready before programs are released. When the program has been finalised, you will be emailed
   instructions on uploading your music.
2. We will be using the Music Uploads system for Voice Critiques. All competitors will need to have an
account on Music Uploads to facilitate the critiques.
3. It is your responsibility to check the music after upload. A back-up on a USB or smart device should be
available in case of any issues.

                                                                                                 Page | 3

Thank you to all who participated in the 2019 Quota Beenleigh City of Logan Eisteddfod. We had over
21,000 enthusiastic young performers cross the stages with record numbers in several genres. How
wonderful to see all these entrants take part and how very difficult for the adjudicators to decide given
the amazing talent they witness. Lets hope COVID allows us to perform in 2021.

117 Primary and Secondary schools and 48 studios participated. What a wonderful performance
opportunity for our youth.

A special thanks to the studio heads, teachers, schools’ personnel and parents who are so supportive and
encouraging. Whilst we know that sport is extremely well represented, it is very pleasing to see the many
thousands of young people participating in all genres of the arts – music, dance and drama.

We look forward to seeing both new and past entrants and welcome you to our Eisteddfod. We wish you
all the very best and know that your dedication and commitment will reward you no matter what path
your life takes.

A special thanks to our sponsors and donors and volunteers without whom this event could not take
place.

See you soon!!
