Pennsylvania Bar Association 2019 Midyear Meeting January 30 – February 3, 2019 Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
Dear PBA Colleagues and Friends: Replace winter’s gray skies, teeth-chattering cold, snow and wool coats with sunshine, warm surf and flip- flops. Shake off the Northeast’s winter chill by joining us in Grand Cayman, Jan. 30 through Feb. 3, at the 2019 PBA Midyear Meeting. This is the first time the PBA is venturing to Grand Cayman, and it promises to be a one-of-a-kind experience with something for everyone. The Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort will be our central location for relaxation, professional develop- ment, connecting with colleagues and fun. Renowned for its superior service, the resort offers four restau- rants, including oceanfront dining and spacious rooms in tropical hues accented by rich dark woods. The resort is located on the award-winning Seven Mile Beach, a crescent-shaped stretch of sand along the beautiful Caribbean Sea, presenting infinite possibilities. Make sure you also take time to experience every- thing else the area has to offer. Living up to its name in every sense, Grand Cayman fuses arts, culture, histo- ry, nature and adventures to produce the perfect atmosphere. The eastern districts of Grand Cayman feature outdoor delights such as the rare blue iguanas at the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park and the North Sound features a “city” of stingrays. You can also walk along the ocean floor among numerous species of colorful fish and coral. We have hand-selected several unique and enjoyable tours and excursions for our guests that we are confident you will love. Off the beaches of Grand Cayman, lose yourself in the luxury of George Town, which is surrounded by tradi- tional architecture and modern treats. Enjoy duty-free shopping for signature brands such as Versace, Tiffany and Gucci. Meet local vendors and craftsmen who are happy to help you find unique gifts for those back home or keepsakes to allow you to remember your time in paradise. Either way, this is the shopping spot for finding treasures. You’ll also have numerous opportunities to meet and learn from leaders of our state bar, some of the best lawyers in the common- wealth and our tremendous judges from every level of the courts throughout Pennsylvania. The Midyear Meeting’s professional development sessions will include a diverse menu of courses earning up to 10 CLE/CJE credits. The PBA will also sponsor a welcome dinner on Wednesday night and a Saturday night “Party with the Presi-dent” dinner with entertainment, providing even more opportuni-ties to unwind with friends and colleagues. Put away your winter clothes and blues and join us in beautiful sunny and warm Grand Cayman, where you can put your toes in the sand. Even though your tan may last only a few weeks, the people you meet, tidbits you learn and memories you make will last a lifetime. We look forward to seeing you there! Sincerely, PBA President Charles Eppolito III and Lisa Eppolito 2019 Midyear Meeting Chairs James Wells and Kim Jessum 2 • 2019 PBA Midyear Meeting

The Sea Trek experience is made possible by amazing helmets, with a system so safe and easy to use that even participants with little or no swimming ability have the opportunity to safely and comfortably explore the underwater world. The diving helmet is constructed of the highest quality marine grade components and pro- vides three times the amount of air necessary for normal breathing. All Sea Trek adventures are in shallow water and are supervised by a professionally trained guide and with a consistent dive plan. The safety diver-to-guest ratio is unmatched in the industry. Snorkel equipment is included. 2019 PBA Midyear Meeting • 13
