WELCOME TO KIDS COMMUNITY SUMMER CAMP 2019
Welcome to Kids Community Summer Camp 2019. Kids Community Summer Camp is an
excellent opportunity for your child to experience PDX and its surrounding areas. Together we’ll
explore what makes this city such a wonderful place to live, as well as participate in hands on
learning through exciting lessons. Our qualified teachers have worked hard to create integrative
activities in the realms of art, science, nature, building, cooking, group games and more.
Each day at KCLC is an adventure set in a safe, encouraging, community focused environment.

THINGS TO KNOW EARLY REGISTRATION DISCOUNT ENDS MARCH 31ST All families that complete necessary forms and have paid all registration fees and deposits will be given a $10 discount per session. ENROLLMENT DEADLINE IS JUNE 1ST All enrollment forms, registration fees and deposits must be received by June 1st. Our staff plan activities in a variety of curriculum areas.
Each week, kids will have opportunities to participate in
science experiments, unique art projects, group games,

Kids Community is dedicated to providing nutritious
snacks that give kids the energy they need to play all day.
Kids are required to bring a lunch each day. We serve
KIDS COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTER snack twice a day and both snacks will include one fresh,
dried, or frozen fruit or fresh vegetable. If your child has
special dietary needs we encourage families to pack
additional food for them.
SPECIAL GUESTS MUSIC LESSONS

At KCLC, we value cross-age activities and build them into our programming through large group,
community, and leadership activities. In addition, we teach small group activities and take field trips that are
based on each specific age groups’ varying abilities and skills. Our groups are listed below and are based on
the grade your child will be entering in the Fall.

Our younger campers will participate in a variety of
educational and enrichment activities during each
session. Each week will include the following activities:
• Science exploration, art projects, cooking, group games,
building challenges, and free choice play
• Cross age lessons planned and led by our older
campers in Purple Group
• Special activities led by instructors from the community
• Fun field trips in and around Portland
5TH AND 6TH GRADE
Our older students participate in all field trips and many
of the same special activities listed above. Purple Group
will also participate in the following during each session:
• Planning, preparing and teaching a lesson to our
younger campers each week
• Weekly cooking activities at the Stadium

KCLC hires qualified, compassionate and professional staff who
have experience, education, and a desire to work with kids. All of
our teachers are certified in First Aid & CPR,Food Safety, and have
passed a criminal background check provided by the State of
Oregon’s Child Care Division. We maintain high standards by
training staff in a variety of topics including child development,
supervision, health and safety, positive discipline techniques, and
other related topics.
On top of being highly qualified, Kids Community staff are chosen
for their positive nature, unique talents, and natural ability to work
with children, families, and as part of a team. Our teacher to child
ratio at Kids Community is 1:10 or better.
