Calvin Booker, DVM, M.Vet.Sc Dr Calvin W Booker received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 1989 and his Master of Veterinary Science (MVetSc) in 1992 from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Dr Booker completed an internship at the Ambulatory Clinic, New York State College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York in 1990 and a residency at the Field Service Clinic, Western College of Veterinary Medicine, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1992. He joined the Feedlot Health Management Services (Feedlot Health) team in 1992 as an epidemiologist, data analyst and production consultant. Feedlot Health provides interdisciplinary expertise to help feedlots and calf grower operations improve net profitability by optimizing cattle health, nutrition and production and strategically adopting new knowledge based on large scale research. Calvin is currently a Managing Partner at Feedlot Health, with responsibilities that include oversight of day-today operations, research, and growth and development. In addition, Calvin is an Affiliate Faculty Member in the Department of Clinical Sciences at Colorado State University and an Adjunct Faculty Member in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University. Dr. Booker is also the current President of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners. Scott McDougall, BSc(vet), BVSc, PhD Scott McDougall is a well-known and highly respected member of the NZ dairy science community. He has been involved in the dairy industry for over 25 years, working as a clinical veterinarian, teaching at Sydney University and working as a scientist for Dairy Research Corporation (now DairyNZ). He received his PhD from Massey University in 1994. In 1997 Scott established the R&D division of Animal Health Centre, called Cognosco. Throughout Scott’s career he has been actively involved in improving animal health and productivity, through research, involvement in strategic industry wide initiatives, teaching and training and presenting at local and international farmer and veterinary conferences.
