16th April 2019 The Easter Bunny Today we had special visitor again, The Easter bunny! All the children love getting to see the Easter bunny again and give him and cuddle or hi five. Alex, Macie and Zoe decided to say hello to the Easter bunny from afar but remembered their manners saying thank you to the Easter Bunny when he gave them a chocolate. It was sad to see the Easter Bunny go but he might be back tomorrow for some more cuddles and hi fives! -Miss Caitlyn LO 1.1 —Children feel safe, se- cure and supported
Little Science Corner We extended yesterday experiment by adding sodium bicar- bonate tablet in to the oil and water mixture. The children were very well disciplined. They all sat on the chair and waited for me to put all the stuffs on the table. We started the experiment just like yesterday and because of the experience that they had, William and AJ told us that the water and the oil would not mix together. “Yes, that’s why we have two layers” . I gave each of them a small broken piece of sodium bicarbonate tablet. When all the bubbles on the bottom of the oil burst and sank at the bot- tom of water, I asked them to put the tablet into the bottle. The tablets formed lots of bubbles and “pushing” the coloured water up to the oil level and we could see small bubbles in the oil. Easter Egg Painting As Easter is in 3 days this week for art we will be doing lots of Ester themed art. Today the children used plastic Easter Eggs and used them for painting. The Zebras had to cover the eggs in different coloured paints and then had to wiggle the box around for the eggs to cover their paper in paint! - Ms Caitlyn LO 4.1—Children develop dispositions for learning such as curiosity, cooperation, confidence, creativity, commit- ment, enthusiasm, persistence, imagination and reflexivity
Chinese Class This morning we sang “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”without playing the music. The children sang with me and we all did the action together. Most of them mastered this song very well! As usual, we did the counting for 1—10 in Mandarin. LO 1.1 —Children feel safe, secure and support- After that, it was a short video about “We need ed to go to the toilet ourselves”. The children learned to tell the adults if they wanted to go to the toilet, flushed the toilet after using it and washed their hands with soap so that we will have clean hands and Zoe was showing us how to do it. Group Time with Miss Cathy Before coming inside for group time Lilliana had a Easter gift for all her friends and Calvin had show and tell. Calvin was very lucky and over the weekend he went on an aero- plane to Sydney! The children loved getting to see pictures of Calvin having lots of fun in Sydney but our favourite photo was of Calvin in the Wiggles car! After Calvin’s show and tell, Lilliana handed out her Easter presents to all her friends. When Lilliana handed out the presents she said ‘Happy Easter’ and the children replied with such lovely manners saying ‘Thank you Lilliana’. After Calvin’s show and tell and Lilliana’s presents we then went inside so Miss Cathy could read us a book all about shapes, then sung some songs and lastly finished off with LO 1.1 —Children feel safe, secure and supported some yoga. The children have become very good at yoga LO 3.1—Children become strong in their social and emotional wellbeing and at balancing on one foot!
