MAKING COLLEGE AFFORDABLE College of Lake County froze tuition rates and fees for students in the 2021-2022 academic year. With costs 1/3 of public universities and 1/9 of private universities in Illinois, plus scholarships and help with financial aid, CLC is a very affordable option for an excellent education. Schedule a meeting with a financial aid counselor to discuss institutional scholarships, federal grants and apprenticeship options so you can take the next step without worrying about costs. More than $1M in scholarships based on need or achievement are available for fall. • 1 in 4 courses at CLC offer no-cost course materials • Laptops and hot spots are available for those in need • Working adults still qualify for most forms of assistance • Financial aid counselors are available to discuss all available options www.clcillinois.edu/scholarships EMERGENCY FINANCIAL AID GRANTS FOR STUDENTS Thanks to the federal Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) II, CLC was awarded $11.5 million to assist the institution with COVID-19 relief funds through the duration of the pandemic. In addition to nearly $2.5 million in emergency financial aid grants automatically awarded to students with exceptional financial need, all students were eligible for $3 million in assistance with emergency needs including tuition, course materials, technology and living expenses. Twenty million dollars more federal funding is expected from the American Rescue Plan HEERF III, with half going to CLC students. “Supporting students is our greatest priority.” www.clcillinois.edu/HEERF - CLC President Dr. Lori Suddick
