CUSTOM MADE CABIN DESIGN
We specialise in bespoke Log Cabins. We believe that customers should have the Log Cabin they
want, not what generic manufacturers determine to offer.
All cabins, no matter the design come in a choice of 34mm, 44mm or 68mm wall thickness;
our sales team will help you determine what will be most suitable for your needs. The roof and floor
thicknesses are 20mm. We can also determine the ideal roof height in order to conform with plan-
ning guidelines.
Our doors and windows come in a variety of designs and are made using gluelam,
a high pressure laminate system and come with double glazing as standard.
Log Thickness
34mm, 44mm or 68mm

Treatment: Apart from the floor bearers, all cabins are supplied completely untreated. It is strongly recommended that the
buildings are treated with a high quality perservative within 14 days of installation, weather permitting.

So how does it work?
We will start with a simple sketch and agree your needs according to your planned use for the
building.
From there we will produce a 3D sketch of your cabin together with plan and elevations of all
the walls, floor and roof. In addition we will also produce a specification sheet, together with
our quotation.
Once you have agreed this we will advise you of a provisional installation date.
Some points to note when planning your building:
• The cabin will need to have at least 2ft/60cm space around the whole
of the building in order to erect it and for the building to be coated in
either a wood stain or wood paint.
• Our buildings come with a year’s warranty covering manufacturing and
installation. Naturally, if you decide to self-install, we cannot offer a
warranty on this.
• It should be remembered that you are buying a timber building and this
will require maintenance from time to time, eg painting every 5 years or
so may be necessary.
Extras
There are a few extras that we offer. You may wish to opt for felt tiles or cedar shingles and
we will be pleased to quote these on application.
We do not recommend insulating the walls of the cabin as they need to move and expand
with moisture. However, we can offer to insulate the roof and will be happy to quote for this.
SHEDS & CABINS - PLANNING ADVICE
In general terms no planning permission is needed, except for the following conditions:
1. Not in front of the house
2. Outbuildings must not cover more than 50% of the land around the original house.
3. Not to be used as separate living accommodation.
4. Must be single storey. Eaves height max 2.5 metres. Pitched roof max height 4m.
Flat roof max height 3m.
5. If within 2 metres of boundary, no part to be more than 2.5m high.
6. Planning permission may be required in Conservation or housing development areas
and for Listed buildings.
