THE 5TH HANGZHOU - NOTTINGHAM CHINESE NEW YEAR TEMPLE FAIR SATURDAY 18 JANUARY 10.30AM - 5PM OLD MARKET SQUARE Nottingham’s Chinese New Year Temple Fair will showcase a full day of Chinese culture with Nottingham’s Chinese community and the many international Chinese students who study in the city. Expect singing, dancing, face changing, traditional musical instrument performance and of course, dragon dances. Local businesses with links to China will join in with a range of activities and some tasty food to try. This event is sponsored by: Hangzhou Cultural Exhibition Co. Ltd, Tianjin Modern TCM Innovation Centre, Nottingham Confucius Institute. CHINESE NEW YEAR EVENTS AT LAKESIDE ARTS Head down to Lakeside to celebrate the beginning of the Year of the Rat, with a number of special performances. THURSDAY 6 - SATURDAY 8 FEBRUARY Gala musical performances featuring enchanting Chinese Erhu, Guzheng and Bamboo flute accompanied by edge-of-your-set Kung Fu routines. MONDAY 10 FEBRUARY Chinese Arts Now are back following last year’s debut as they present an enthralling audio drama. Come together and celebrate St George’s Day THURSDAY 23 APRIL WEDNESDAY 12 - WEDNESDAY 19 FEBRUARY Come together to celebrate the patron saint of England.
