Polar Express BREAKFAST WITH SANTA STORYTIME TRAIN Sunday, December 8 & December 15 Our event, based on the book, The Polar Express, by Chris Van Allsburg, will delight every family member. The Polar Express will leave the Itasca Metra Station on Sunday, December 8 or Sunday, December 15 for a trip to the North Pole. Enjoy chocolate milk and cookies while listening to the magical story of “The Polar Saturday, December 14, 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Express.” When we reach the North Pole, we will find Santa Claus Christmas is almost here! Share the holiday spirit with and bring him aboard the train to join us in holiday trivia, singing Santa Claus and kids of all ages. SATURDAY, NOV. 23 | CENTENNIAL REC CENTER & Drumstick Dash Our predicted time race is back! ALL RUNNERS RECEIVE Celebrate Thanksgiving early this year by running the Turkey Trot 5K or one mile Drumstick Dash. The 5K race route will go through Centennial Park and on some RACE neighborhood streets. Predict your estimated time for completing the 5K (3.10 SHIRT & mile) race. The female and male participants closest to their predicted time will MEDAL win a $25 gift card & a Turkey to get your feast started. The overall Male & Female race finishers will receive $100 prize. Race day registration begins at 6:30 a.m. Please note: This race will not be chip-timed and timing instruments such as watches GPS, etc are not allowed. All time predictions need to be one hour or less. Otherwise, it will not count towards winning a prize.
