WILDLIFE VIEWING IN KENYA AND RWANDA - August 9 to 18, 2019 a program of the stanford alumni association
What’s better than an amazing
African adventure? Two amazing adventures in one!
We begin this program with the Great Wildebeest
Migration in Kenya’s Maasai Mara, setting out across
the plains in search of zebras, gazelles, elephants, the
magnificent big cats that hunt them and, of course,
wildebeests. Then, prepare for the thrill of sitting mere
yards away from a 400-pound silverback gorilla as
he contentedly feeds on forest vegetation in the misty
underbrush of the Virunga Massif. These majestic
and extremely rare creatures have always been
a huge draw for eco-tourists to Rwanda, but few
people venture beyond Kigali and Volcanoes National
Park, as we will, in this tiny, yet fascinating, country.
Join us on this unique and extraordinary adventure,
led by biological anthropologist Jamie Jones.
