                                                                             Haltwhistle Film Project has worked across Cumbria and the
                                                                             North-East for 20 years making films and animations with people
                                                                             as young as 3 and as old as 104.
                                                                             They run a mobile cinema, learning disability film company FilmAble
                                                                             and have made films for many organisations including the NHS
                                                                             and RSPB.
                                                                             Come and hear some of their stories about pirates in biplanes,
                                                                             flutes made from sticks, animations of sea monsters and find out
                                                                             how they tackle important subjects.

    Annie Weir: The Making of a Novelist
Tues 6th Feb 2018
In 2009, Annie Weir decided to give writing 'a proper
go', and completed an MA in Creative Writing at the
University of Cumbria in 2011.
Annie's psychological thriller 'Judith Wants to be Your
Friend' featured in the 2017 Borderlines festival and
has sold over 5000 copies. It has been described as a
skilful blend of narrative voices and viewpoints.
In this talk Annie will share with you her innovative writing exercises,
and tell you about her journey from secret writer to successful author.

NATURE EXPLORERS’ WEEKEND

Back by popular demand is our fantastic Nature Explorers’ Weekend.
Join us for another fun-filled weekend exploring what makes
Cumbria’s nature so exciting. We’ll also have Cumbria Wildlife Trust,
Natural England, Carlisle Natural History Society, Eden Rivers Trust,
Solway Coast AONB and Cumberland Geological Society as well as
colleagues from Manchester Museum and Keswick Museum running
hands-on activities suitable for children of all ages.
There will also be some amazing creatures for you to meet and we’ll
be once again joined by the world-famous Professor Pumpernickel and
his spectacular science show!
Most activities are free of charge. Activities in the galleries will require an
annual ticket (£6.50 until 31st March, £10.00 from 1st April 2018).
