Inland Feed is very active in helping the farming community. You may find a small animal sale in the parking lot or you may find tables set up tor Pumpkin Lane. They are also very active with F.F.A. 4H and the Clayton Fair, just to mention a few of the thing they help out with. My first time in the Settler’s Parade, I rode with my dad, Howard, on a horse-drawn buggy when I was not yet 3 years old as my mom, Jean, watched with the spectators. A few years later, I rode in the parade on my tricycle. I have ridden on a float, a mule and a unicycle. I have also marched in the high school and alumni bands several times. I attended 12 years of school in Deer Park, graduating from Deer Park High School in 1971. I played in the state basketball tournament on a couple of occasions under legendary coach Max Sanchez and was part of the high school band that marched in the 1970 Rose Parade under the direction of equally legendary Ken Fisher. I served six years on the Deer Park City Council before I moved back to the family farm north of Deer Park with my wife, Roberta. I later had the privilege of serving the citizens of Deer Park for 25 years as a city employee. After retiring, I am spending my time puttering about the family farm and helping research and Miss Deer Park preserve our area’s history as a member of the Clayton/Deer Park Historical Society. Princes 2020 Princess It is truly an honor to ride in this year’s Settler’s Parade as the grand marshal. I hope everyone Janessa Ainsley Isabella enjoys the Settler’s festivities.
