December Fun Day and General Election Meeting It was so great to see everyone enjoying a fun day with their dogs, since it was last February when we were able to meet last before needing to cancel all spring fun days because of Corvid 19. We had thirty members and a couple of prospective members join us. Everyone did an excellent job of social distancing, wearing masks, and being respectful and caring of others. A huge THANKS to Carie, Kyle and Barb for leading the group in an introduction to some of the Rally signs and then an intro to Conformation. These two sports were then followed by a group competition of duck herding!! So, we had fun with three dog sports on Sunday: Rally, Conformation and Herding! Everyone is getting too good at duck herding, so maybe next month will lead to some new and unusual challenges! Hmmm! What other dog sport do we need to add???

Craig Baker: “The Little Chocolate Border Collies ended their 2020 season at the ASC of Arizona December Trial out in Litchfield Park. Friday the 4th found the girls running the D course on all 3 stocks Started Level. An Exciting day for the girls as this was their first trial on cattle. Although they just missed qualifying by 5 points, they used almost the entire 10 minutes, but still managed Maggie in 1st and Lizzy in 2nd. They jumped over to Sheep and secured qualifying scores where Lizzy placed 3rd and Maggie 4th. Then it was on to qualifying scores in Geese where Lizzy finished 1st and Maggie 2nd. Lizzy earned Most Promising Started Dog Other Breed on this day.” “Saturday the 5th found the ladies running the B course started level in all 3 stock. The ladies qualified on all 3 stock on this day with Maggie finishing 3rd in Cattle and Lizzy 2nd. Over in the sheep arena Lizzy placed 1st and Maggie 2nd. Over in the Goose arena Maggie placed 2nd and Lizzy in 5th.” “Maggie was awarded Most Promisng Started Dog Other Breed to catch up with her sister. Sunday, the 6th, the Chocolate sisters were back at it on the B Course once again. Maggie landed herself a 1st in Cattle, 2nd in Sheep and a 5th in Geese while Lizzy placed 2nd in cattle and 3rd in both sheep and geese, earning her another Most Promising Started Dog Other Breed.“ “As 2020 ends and 2021 begins it is on to Open level and a lot of learning to steer for their handler. Thank you to Lisa, Jan, Carol, Dawna, Megan and the rest of the crew for another wonderful weekend spent with friends and our dogs! Happy Holidays!”
