What is QTAC? • A not-for-profit organisation • Owned by seven Queensland universities What do we do? • Assess approximately 75, 000 applications per year • Make offers in 1,700 undergraduate courses on behalf of 16 institutions

What does QTAC do for Institutions? • QTAC manages the applications and offers for institutions • Institutions determine admissions rules and QTAC implements them • Rules do differ from institution to institution

Other Tertiary Study • Less competitive degrees • Different campuses • Regional institutions
Combined Diplomas/Degrees • Apply for entry into a Diploma • If you pass you get guaranteed entry into the Bachelor course • Get credit for study done so far, graduate with two qualifications
AQF Diplomas/Advanced Diplomas • Make sure you complete as you will get a better rank • Check course is accredited prior to enrolling www.training.gov.au
Admission Pathway Programs • Upgrading - studying a single subject to meet a prerequisite. Used if you don’t have a subject needed • Alternative - obtain a rank, meet a subject prerequisite, gain tertiary skills and basic knowledge. Used if you don’t have university entry qualifications

Course Costs and Financial Assistance 1. HECS-HELP - loan scheme for eligible students enrolled in Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP’s) 2. FEE- HELP - loan scheme that assists eligible students pay all or part of their tuition fees 3. VET STUDENT LOANS – loan scheme for eligible students enrolled in vocational and education and training at approved VET providers
International Students • Need to contact institution for course cost information • Current Year 12 international students apply through QTAC • Offers are made directly by institutions and students may receive multiple offers or offers conditional on Year 12 results

Once lodged you will receive: • Tax invoice/Receipt • Confirmation of lodgement • Coversheets (check due dates) After you apply you can: • View, check and change preferences • Check progress
Finding your offer • You’ll get an email and SMS • Login to ‘My Application’ – click on ‘Respond to Offer’ tab • You’ll get SMS if offer is about to lapse
