Look for These Murals Around the Fairgrounds! The Warren Hills Middle School 7th & 8th Grades, under the guidance of Dan Diveny, Art Teacher, undertook the task of painting murals for the 2019 Fair. As part of their research, the group met with students from the FFA (Future Farmers of America) to discussed the symbolism in their logo. The eagle repre- sents freedom, the owl is for wisdom, the sunrise and sunset is symbolic of progress, the plow represents hard work ethic and corn symbolizes unity. From there students incorporated these elements, and added elements rep- resenting their own Fair favorites. The murals took 3-4 weeks to com- plete. Students first worked up design concepts. Teams then divided up respon- sibilities. They learned planning, problem solving and working within a time frame. The Fair would like for every barn to be covered with murals from students around the county. To participate in the 2020 Fair, contact Mr. Diviney at divenyd@warrenhills.org 4

The Kids’ Corral Chock Full of Fun for Your Little Ones Got kids? Plan a visit to the The Kids’ Corral, where you will find a great deal of hands-on fun, entertainment and education. We suspect parents have just as much fun as the children do. The fact that it’s easy on the wallet (everything is FREE of charge for fairgoers) is an added bonus! Young cowboys and cowgirls can enjoy sensory tables or the ever popular garden and sand boxes. Create a lasting memory - design your own quilt square this year, and next year enter a drawing to win the quilt with your square sewn in it. Quilts are assembled each year by Rosa Iannitelli of White Township, NJ. Contests include ice pop, jello and pie eating, Veggie Fear Factor, hula hooping, butter sculpting and potato sack racing. Registration for contests is at the Kids’ Corral from 12:00 noon to one half hour before start of contest. Children must arrive for the contest 5 minutes prior to start of the contest, so plan accordingly for the day. This year, in order to accommodate all the children that visit the tent, we ask that once your child has won a particular contest, they allow others to participate the remainder of the week. The Fair is delighted to provide this free area of activity and fun for all of the vis- itors to the Fair! The Kids’ Corral is open from the hours of 12 noon to 8 pm, daily.
