VALHALLA UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT 2020-22 PRIORITIES • Further develop engagement opportunities among the entire school community for the purpose of encouraging pride for and supporting the school district to enhance the experiences for ALL students. • Create an inclusive process to identify the cognitive, personal and interpersonal competencies students should have at each milestone. • Create structures and systems which allow the faculty, staff and administrators to collect and identify, analyze and use, and communicate appropriate data both internally and externally. • Collaborate with key stakeholder groups to develop a comprehensive plan that addresses the changing needs of our community of learners.

2021-22 Preliminary Budget Considerations Expenditures: • Contract Salaries • BOCES services: (Estimated) For RIC Services–recommended increase of 2.0% as an average For Special Ed-recommended increase of 2.0% as an average For Career Tech-recommended increase of 2.0% as an average) • ERS – 16.2% on new salaries • TRS – 9.5- 10% on new salaries • Health insurance average rates increase of 4% • Transportation 2% • Utilities - Electricity 2%

• Applications must be completed to receive an absentee ballot. • Completed Applications must be received by the School District Clerk: • By or prior to 4:00 P.M. on May 11, 2021, if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, OR • By or prior to 4:00 P.M. on May 17, 2021, if the ballot is to be picked up personally by the voter • Absentee ballots must be received by the School District Clerk not later than 5:00 P.M. on May 18, 2021.
There will be 3 vacancies on the Board of Education. Petitions are available immediately for the following seats for the period July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2024: Seat held by John Baker Seat held by Ronald Cavallo Seat held by Eric Lederer Petitions can be picked up from the District Clerk, 316 Columbus Ave, Valhalla during regular business hours. 25 qualified voter* signatures are required on the petition. Petitions must be returned no later than 5:00 PM, Monday, April 19, 2021 *Qualified Voter = Must be a US citizen, at least 18 years old and reside in the district at least 30 days
