Vaishnavi B. Hometown: Indore, India Area of Study: Business Administration in Human Resources I am involved in: I am CPHR Campus Ambassador of Norquest College, a peer mentor at International Peer mentorship program since Fall 2020, volunteer at different places and a part-time sales associate at Walmart. A fun fact about me is: I love dancing (owned my own freestyle dance classes back home). I am always happy, hopeful and a consistent learner. My best quality is: I am a dynamic person who can survive and try to thrive everywhere, look forward for opportunities, never hesitate to present my opinion and connect with people well. My best first year tip is: Time management, emotional control, and open mindedness is the key. Get involved in different kind of activities in college and trust yourself. At the end, every new thing will adopt you. Favorite class / campus activity: I love meeting new people and hearing their stories. Joining different clubs and groups and hanging out with my friends is what I enjoyed the most. Anmoldeep Hometown: Punjab, India Area of Study: Business Administration I am involved in: International Peer Mentorship Program A fun fact about me: Since childhood I have always dreamt of travelling all around the world, and it is one of the top things in my bucket list. My best quality: I’m a quick learner. When someone teaches me something new, it takes me a very less time to get hang of it. My best first year tip: Try to participate in extra- curricular activities happening in the college or engage in volunteer opportunities. It will help you to expand your network and you will get to know more and more people around your college. Favorite class/campus activity: One of my favorite class activities is to take part in Kahoot quizzes during the class. It’s a fun way to learn things and there is a healthy competition among the classmates to win the quiz.
Alyzza C. Hometown: Philippines Area of Study: Business Administration I am involved in: I am a former volunteer at SANQC and also in the NorQuest Tax Clinic. I have been a peer mentor since September 2019. A fun fact about me is: I love connecting and inspiring people. I want to be a positive influence to people I meet. My best quality is: I am a good listener. My best first year tip is: Allow yourself to adjust first. Don't pressure yourself. Don't be afraid to ask questions! Favorite class / campus activity: I enjoy virtual check outs. You must check them out! SAKSHI CHAUDHARY Hometown: Balachaur, Punjab, India. Area of Study: Business Administration. I am involved in: International Peer Mentorship Program. A fun fact about me: I love books. I love collecting books that “I will read someday” and reading books is my hobby as well. My best quality: I am passionate about my work. I love what I do. I have a source of motivation that drives me to do my best. My best first year tip: Study twice as much as you think you need to for your exams and quizzes at NorQuest. Study like your life depends on it and do not even come close to plagiarizing. Favourite class/campus activity: I love doing online Kahoot quizzes with my classmates during virtual classes because I always enjoy doing them and this helped me a lot in studying for my exams.
Aanchal D. Hometown: Punjab, India Area of Study: Business Administration A fun fact about me: I am very talkative. I speak a lot, but people say I listen to them patiently. So, I am a good listener too. My best quality: I’d say my best quality is my openness with people. I always try to be optimistic and polite with people I met. My best first year tip: Grow through whatsoever comes in life. Always accept new things & new challenges as it’s the only way to polish yourself. Don’t worry about anything, things take time but at the end everything will be perfect. Favourite class/campus activity: I always look forward for fun activities at Students’ Association at NorQuest College. Bavjot Hometown: Mohali, India Area of Study: Business Administration I am involved in: I volunteer with a NQ Students’ Association. A fun fact about me is: I have been an astounding Cricket player with leading my cricket team as a captain to many successful wins. Another favorite sport to burn down some calories and rejuvenate is Basketball and Swimming. My best quality is: I have a strong willpower and I am very passionate and determined in whatsoever I step into. To do so, time management is the key. And most prominently staying and sprinkling positivity everywhere you walk is quintessential. My best first year tip is: Studying is imperative but making friends, interaction with course instructor, taking coffee breaks, getting involved in volunteer activities, clubs, sports makes it fun and pleasurable in college.
Favorite class / campus activity: I always look forward to Business Communication-II class because I found this subject have the maximum usage in real-world. Supplementary, hanging out with friends for coffee breaks in free-time is what I loved the most. Dilsher Hometown: Amritsar, India Area of study: Business Administration- Management Specialization I am involved in: I am a mentor in the International Peer Mentorship Program and I work part-time at Walmart. A fun fact about me: I was a volleyball player at school and had taken part in several tournaments. I also learned to play guitar. My best quality: Good at creating and meeting deadlines, decision making and time management. My best first year tip: Besides studies, it is equally important to explore the cultural diversity in this country since it widens yours thought process. Attend events in town, join clubs at college. Favorite class/ campus activity: The brief table tennis sessions with my friends during breaks. Pranshu Gupta Hometown: Punjab, India Area of Study: Business Administration in Accounting I am involved in: International Peer Mentorship Program A fun fact about me is I am a foody. I love to eat a variety of dishes whether Asian, continental, Chinese, Mexican, Italian, Spanish and many more and I love listening to songs. My best quality is: I am an innovator, I believe in stepping further rather than waiting for others to do. I love challenges because challenges allow me to step out of my comfort zone and do something exceptional and new. My best first year tip is: Explore NorQuest and its services as much as you can. There are a lot of activities and services NorQuest offers regarding studying and fun.
Favorite class / campus activity: I always love to go to the campus activities like photo booths and the SANQC parties at NorQuest. Pushpdeep Hometown: Delhi, India Area of study: Business Administration I am involved in: I have volunteered in SANQC department and even in student of judicial affairs. A fun fact about me: I am a very friendly person. I am a brilliant artist. I love drawing sketches and paintings. I love to play with colors and brushes all the time. Moreover, I am good in playing badminton and cricket as well. My best quality is: I have good leadership skills. My strongest view is attention to details and I totally believe in planning and execution. I take my work very seriously and I am always looking to improve my skills and qualification so that I can work to the highest standards possible in my role. My best first year tip is: Always be attentive in the class. Listen to what your teachers say. Try to take part in some other courses in which you have interest. Try to balance your studies and work. Try to make friends as much as you can. Give your best. Favorite class / campus activity: I always used to play new games with my friends. Binita K. Name: Binita Hometown: Land of Mount Everest Nepal, Bhaktapur Area of study: Disability studies I am involved in: Volunteering at SANQC and International Peer Mentorship Program Fun fact about me: I am an ambivert and a lifelong learner. My best quality: I am a good listener and a very jolly person. My best first year tip is: Have a mindset of what you want to do. because your mindset is about what you see, think and believe. It influences everything you see and
do, also time management and staying on track with the deadlines is the key. I have always uplifted myself by the quote "Nothing is impossible the word itself says 'I' 'M' 'POSSIBLE'”. Favorite class/ campus activity: Every subject I am taking influences me to explore in my field of study. SANQC activities and Virtual Check-Ins have helped me. Roohie Hometown: Jeddah, Saudi Arabia Area of Study: Child and Youth Care I am involved in: International Peer Mentorship program at NorQuest A fun fact about me is: Despite being an introvert, I love connecting with people but at the same time I need to have my alone time to recharge myself My best quality is: I think of stress as a motivator and I am very good at working under stress. My best first year tip is: Always ask help from your instructors if you are struggling and get to know all the services provided by NorQuest Favourite class: I like all my classes because I love children and Psychology and all my courses are centred in and around that Gurleen Hometown: Punjab, India Area of Study: Interdisciplinary Therapy Assistant I am involved in: International Peer Mentorship Program A fun fact about me is: I am an extrovert and love to explore new places and people. I am good at making paintings and crafts. I am so obsessed with doing paintings and crafts that I can live for a while without food but not without doing art. My best quality is: I am great at leading groups. I am so focused that if I decide to accomplish any goal, I solely dedicate myself towards it and do not stop till I reach my destination, no matter what.
My best first year tip is: Explore and utilize every resource offered by NorQuest ranging from library to the centre of growth and harmony. It is always better to seek help from others rather than keeping things to yourself. So, feel free to ask questions in and out of your class. Stay consistent and do not panic as there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Favorite class / campus activity: The pandemic made us go online. So, the activities I liked the most were virtual SANQC events and check-ins and check-outs offered by NorQuest International. Sakshi B. Hometown: Punjab, India Area of Study: Business Administration I am involved in: International Peer Mentorship Program A fun fact about me: I really like to sing. My best quality: I am a quick learner and I have a lot of patience. My first-year tip: Explore the college and the city as much as you can. Favorite class / campus activity: I like to go to SANQC events. They organise it every month and it’s fun. You also get a lot of free stuff. Sandra Hometown: Mexico City, Mexico Area of Study: Business Administration I am involved in: International Peer Mentorship Program A fun fact about me: I learned to drive at the age of 13 and since then I have enjoyed it. Today when I want to de-stress I drive and that relieves me. My best quality: I am outgoing and receptive to the different perspectives of each person. I like being open minded. My best first year tip is: Explore NorQuest and its services as much as you can. There
are a lot of activities and services NorQuest offers regarding studying and having fun. Favorite class / campus activity I like to participate in the online events organized by the Norquest College International, and it also keeps me connected with the college now that we cannot attend classes in person. Sukhdeep Hometown: Ferozepur, Punjab India. I am involved in: International peer mentorship program. My best qualities are: Currently working as a leader and can work under any critical, stressful situations. Good in readings and writings. I have a good patience level and having great customer service experience. A fun fact about me: I try to well maintain the environment of workplace by joking or giving activities at workplace. Which helps to the peers to buildup more interest. My best tip for first year students is: Make sure you focus on your studies and join SANQC’S, which can be helpful for students to work through various activities. Puneet Area of study: Business administration I’m involved in: International Peer Mentorship Program My best qualities are: I am confident and helpful; I go out of my way to help others. I can also work efficiently on multiple tasks at once. A fun fact about me: I love reading books, keeping journals and watching Netflix. My best tip for first year students is: One piece of advice for all my international fellows is that they should explore all the fun activities provided by NorQuest and it could be stressful sometimes and NorQuest offers the best services for stress management.
Taranpreet Singh Toor Hometown: Punjab, India Area of Study: Business Administration I am involved in: International Peer Mentorship Program. Fun fact about me: I grew up in a family with farming background because of which I am also interested in agriculture and started going to the farm at very young age and spent last few years doing farming with my father. My Best First Year Tip: NorQuest provides lots of services/facilities to its students and for their best interest, it is required everyone should explore these things. Favorite class / Campus activity: I love to go to the SANQC parties and activities. Ratanjot Hometown: Punjab, India Area of Study: Business Administration I am involved in: International Peer Mentorship Program A fun fact about me is: I started dancing when I was in 5th grade and I love all forms of dancing. My best quality is: I am great at working under stressful situations. I have a good patience level and I am able to work productively under stress.
