University Open House Schedule AS YOU LEAVE HOME… 1. Set your GPS for 1 South George Street, Millersville, PA 17551. 2. Activate location services on your mobile phone using the phone number provided when registering for the event. AS YOU ARRIVE IN MILLERSVILLE… 1. You’ll receive an automated text when you are within a half-mile of the University. 2. Respond to the automated text; you will receive a notice telling you that you have successfully checked in. Didn’t work? See #5b below. 3. Follow signs to the Admissions Event Parking. 4. Park and walk to the Student Memorial Center. 5. Pick up your open house materials in the Robert L. Slabinski Atrium. a. If you were successful in checking in remotely, pick up your event materials at the Express table. b. If you are unable to check in remotely, show the QR code from your confirmation email to a staff member at the Registration table to pick up your event materials. AFTER YOU CHECK IN Take advantage of any of the following opportunities available to you this morning. Refreshments are available immediately outside of the Services Fair. 8:00 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. Residence Hall Showrooms Open West and East Villages Experience the suite-style residence hall rooms available to first-year students. Follow the signs from the Student Memorial Center to West Village to view a four-bed, double suite or to East Village to view a two-bed, single suite. Members of The Crew will be on hand to discuss the amenities in the rooms and the benefits of living on campus. If there is a line for this activity, you may want to consider participating in another activity and returning to the showroom between 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Services Fair Student Memorial Center, ‘Reighard Multipurpose Room We know that a college decision can oftentimes come down to the "value-added" programs and services the University provides. Want a broad overview of a particular field of study or to understand the differences between two majors? Student Memorial Center, The Galley We recognize that you have some very practical questions at the start of your college exploration process. Meet briefly with representatives from University Housing & Conference Services, Dining and Catering Services, and Student Financial Services to get some of your questions answered about housing, dining, and paying for college. MEET WITH PROFESSORS Recognizing that you may have not yet decided on a major, you have two opportunities to learn about the interesting courses, outstanding faculty, successful students, special opportunities, and job and graduate school placements for the field of study you may be interested in. You are encouraged to attend two different sessions this morning – one in each of the Academic Blocks. The chart shown below identifies the location for each of the department presentations. Note that some departments will only be offering an information session in Academic Block One or Block Two. What are the names of the resident swans? What special relationship does MU have with the song, “Row, Row, Row Your Boat”? Please be sure to have your meal tickets ready for collection as you enter the dining facility. 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Program Overviews University Honors College Overview Student Memorial Center, Room 118E Interested in learning more about the benefits, opportunities, and enrichment that make up Millersville’s University Honors College to see if this program might be for you? During this session, you will hear from current students who will share their experiences in the program as well as faculty who are associated with this program. Feel free to bring your lunch and attend our session. Transfer Student Overview Student Memorial Center, Club de’Ville Whether you’ve attended one or eleven colleges after high school, enlisted in the military, or went to a technical training school, you are in good company as a prospective transfer student! Join us to learn about the application process, transfer admission requirements, and next steps in your academic journey.
Admissions Overview Student Memorial Center, Room 018 If you are graduating from high school soon and haven't applied yet, join representatives from the Office of Admissions to learn about the application process for first-year students. Topics will include how and when to apply, required items to complete an application, average admissions criteria, and the timeline for receiving an admissions decision.
