Under the Big Top

Welcome to Scotus Central Catholic and our Gala! As you
know tonight is the major fundraiser for our school. The
success of this event allows us to keep the cost of attending
Scotus affordable. Most importantly, it provides the resources
we need to provide a Catholic education for our students. I
hope you have a wonderful evening and Thank You for your
 financial support of this event.

 Jeff Ohnoutka, President

Under the Big Top - Scotus Central Catholic
Ladies and Gentlemen,
We would like to welcome you all to the 2020 Scotus Gala, “Under the Big Top.” We hope
you enjoy the evening as we take a step back into the 1920’s and come together to raise
money and celebrate the next new decade of Scotus excellence.
To begin, it has truly been an honor to serve as this year’s Gala chairs. We have been so
humbled by the generosity and outpouring of so many selfless individuals.
We would also like to give a special thanks and tip our hats to our ringmasters, John and
Janice, for their outstanding support and guidance over these last couple of years. We
could not have done it without you. To our vice chairs, Tim & LeAnn, Bobby & Rachel,
and Joe & Amy, we are grateful that you joined us on this journey and wish you much
success for next year’s Gala.
A standing ovation goes out to the numerous volunteers and donors that were involved in
tonight’s event, and to all our special guests. You are the reason for our success, and we
thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Last, but not least, we thank God for everything he’s provided for us, and we ask for his
blessings on this special night. We thank him for the opportunity to raise funds for something
we feel so passionately about- our children and their futures.
Now without further ado, let the show begin!

special and unique experience for the golfer. The front nine is in the Sandhills and the back nine
plays along and near a valley with more lush vegetation and the backdrop of Big and Little
Horseshoe, two uniquely shaped hills that define this course. An 18,000 square foot clubhouse
offers a saloon lounge, card room, pool tables and wine room. First-class accommodations are
available in cabins located on site, offering both rustic charm and sensational views. This all-

From the 2021 Gala Committee
Welcome to Scotus Gala 2020 “Under the Big Top.” This year’s fundraiser once again will
prove to be successful only because of you our guests and wonderful supporters of Catholic
education. For this, we thank you and are continually grateful. Scotus is known for its rich
tradition of deep faith and outstanding education. We are so proud and hope to pass this on
for years to come.
To our current Gala chairs, we want to say thank you for your guidance and leadership
through this process and getting us here “Under the Big Top!” It has been a joy to work with
each and every one of you, and we appreciate you asking and trusting us to work alongside
you. A much-deserved thank you belongs to John and Janice for your hard work and continued
dedication to Scotus. You are the behind the scenes “duo” and are not appreciated enough!
May God Bless both of you! We also want to send out a very special thank you to our donors,
sponsors, volunteers and committee members.
Lastly, we are honored to vice-chair this special event here at Scotus. We are especially
grateful to our dear Lord for His guidance in the planning and success of this year’s Gala.
May He bless you and watch over you all.
