ADMISSION Students interested in applying to the University of Arkansas for the fall semester are urged to apply in early January, or in August for the spring semester. Students can begin the application process while college work is in progress. THE APPLICATION PROCESS ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Three steps to applying for admission: New Transfer (24 or more transferable hours) ❶ Complete and submit an online application at • College GPA 2.0 cumulative GPA on all credit hours transfer.uark.edu. Spring semester: Apply by December 15. • Good Academic Standing Fall semester: Apply by August 1. Transfer Freshmen (less than 24 transferable hours) ❷ Send official college transcript(s) from all institutions • College GPA attended. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE APR 1 OCT 15 Fall Transfer Spring Transfer Five steps to funding your education: Scholarship Scholarship Deadline Deadline ❶ APPLY EARLY Apply for university scholarships by posted deadlines and apply between January 1 and February 15 for fall semester departmental scholarships (each year). ❷ SCHOLARSHIPS In addition to institutional and departmental scholarships, search for private aid through local businesses, civic groups, and places of worship. Check websites such as fastweb.com for lists of additional scholarships. ❸ COMPLETE YOUR FAFSA Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for federal student aid. New students should submit the FAFSA no later than the scholarship deadlines for Advance Arkansas and other need-based scholarship consideration. Go to fafsa.gov and use the University of Arkansas code: 001108. ❹ REVIEW STUDENT AID REPORT Review the Student Aid Report (SAR) that will be sent to you after your FAFSA is processed. It will include a federally calculated Expected Family Contribution (EFC) and outline any additional steps you should complete. ❺ RECEIVE YOUR AWARD NOTICE Receive your award notice from the University of Arkansas, which may include grants, loans, and work-study, as well as merit-based awards and scholarships. TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIPS To apply for academic scholarships at the U of A, you must first apply for admission. Students should submit their admissions application by October 1 to be considered for the October 15 spring semester deadline and by March 15 to be considered for the April 1 fall semester deadline. scholarships.uark.edu/transfer-scholarships ELIGIBILITY The University of Arkansas offers transfer scholarships to entering students each fall and spring. To be considered for University of Arkansas Transfer Scholarships, entering transfer students must have completed or be in the process of completing at least 24 or more transferable hours of college-level work from a regionally accredited institution of higher education other than the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.
