Welcome from Conor Maguire At the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, education is at the heart of what we do and our world-renowned programme features a range of events for physicians at all career stages. We have over 80 events taking place around the world in 2019–2020 and our Edinburgh events are webstreamed to over 60 sites in the UK and overseas. We also offer a flexible online learning environment through our Education Portal, which features interactive modules, challenging cases and archived talks. EMU #rcpeEMU Organised by our Trainees and Members’ Committee and free to attend at the College or at a live stream site, our Evening Medical Update (EMU) Programme features the ‘Top Medical Presentations’ and ‘Emergency Presentations’ as defined in the General Internal Medicine training curriculum. Non-clinical topics are also covered to support you in your career. These events are designed primarily for trainees but are open to all hospital doctors, GPs, healthcare professionals and medical students. CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CPD Diary We run the CPD Diary primarily for physicians in the UK, though all our Fellows and Members are welcome to use it. We run the diary in conjunction with RCP London and RCPS Glasgow. The diary can help you maintain a personal and validated record of your CPD activities on an annual basis. Over 20,000 doctors use the CPD Diary and have access to this unique resource of approved CPD activities. See our website for details: rcpe.ac.uk/CPD We also approve events and online learning modules for CPD. These approved events, including those run by each of the three Colleges of Physicians, appear on the Federation’s online database, which is available through the CPD Diary. Physicians’ CPD App The Physicians’ CPD app syncs automatically with your online CPD Diary and allows you to access over 5,000 approved activities that have been reviewed by the Federation’s network of consultant physicians. The app is available on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store.

P Physicians’ Gallery The College’s public exhibition space located at 11 Queen Street allows visitors to delve into the fascinating world of medical history through illustrations, books and objects. This is the first time in over 300 years that the historic collections have been on public display. Two exhibitions are hosted each year, exploring a range of medical subjects, past and present. So far, topics have included the history of alchemical practices and changing approaches to mental health treatment over the last 500 years.
