Trainee experience 5 I joined HLB Sheehan Quinn as a trainee-chartered accountant in October 2018. After completing my master's in business management, I decided to pursue a career in auditing and assurance while also completing my ACA qualification. HLB Sheehan Quinn was the perfect fit for me as it allowed me to work with a diverse range of clients from pharmaceutical, educational institutes, property management to large meat processing companies, to name a few. Working directly with the Partners and the firm's managers has helped me significantly in my overall development in dealing with clients, resolving complex issues, and general project management. I was also able to get exposure to corporation tax compliance and non-audit services, which helped me immensely in my professional exams. Partners were always ready to set aside time to deal with my queries. Trainee experience 6 I joined HLB Sheehan Quinn as a placement student and then as a trainee-chartered accountant. It allowed me to gain experience in and exposure to different financial departments such as audit, non-audit accounts prep & taxation. This helped me choose which area I thought was right for me and also gain a lot of valuable knowledge in what’s required to work in those areas. It also allowed me to build relationships with people working in different financial areas and at different levels in their career, which is always valuable. The firm organizes many social activities during the year, which was great in socializing with the other departments in HLB. Post David O’Donnell lockdown, the virtual social activities have continued to keep the spirit of fun and social interaction. The best part of working in HLB would be my colleagues and team members, who are always happy to help and have been a source of great support for me and helped me grow immensely in my professional life. 2021 Traineeship HLB Sheehan Quinn
