The Splash November 24, 2020 Volunteers wanted: We need people to help behind the bar to serve at the Port Marlborough, WK and First National Christmas functions: Friday 4th Dec Sat 5th Dec Friday 11th Dec Our first big event: The Marine Farmers Association AGM and conference was held at the club last Friday and was a great success. Lisa and Sarah would like to again thank everyone for their help in making it run so well. The attendees were full of praise for the clubs effort on the day, with the sailors waiting tables gaining special mention and the phrase “best ever” used by many. MFA has already rebooked the club for next year securing another lucrative fundraiser for the club. Interislander Regatta - Doing better for the environment -The 2021 Interislander Regatta is now a Clean Regatta, registered with sailorsforthesea.org. QCYC is now seeking volunteers for a GREEN TEAM to help plan and implement the Clean Regatta best practices If you would like to be involved in some way, big or small, or want to find out more please contact Mel Ewart at learn2sail@qcyc.org. Get ready for the Nelson Marlborough Regionals! The Nelson Marlborough Regionals are rapidly approaching, and registrations are now open – this is a great event for optis, starlings and team sailors. Nelson Club will provide 420s, so get a team together! They are being held in Nelson from Saturday the 12th to Sunday the 13th of December. Kate urges sailors to head on over: “It’s a great regatta that the majority of the club travels to, so make sure you have booked accommodation in advance.” Register at www.nelsonyachtclub.org.nz/event/2020-nelson-marlborough- regional-championships (before 1st of December) and receive $20 off. No Saturday sailing next week There won’t be any sailing on the Dec 5th – it will be on the 6th Dec. Sailing will be outside (weather permitting). Briefing will be 1130h and first warning will be 1300h.

Social Function Thurs 3rd Dec: King Salmon Wardroom 10.30 - 3.30 Talk and social function. Fri 4th Dec: King Salmon Wardroom, kitchen and bar. Afternoon and evening from 1300 until late. Social function Sat 5th Dec: King Salmon Wardroom, kitchen and bar. Afternoon and evening from 10am until late. Social Function. Sun 6th Dec: Classroom upstairs, floating wharf, sailor changing rooms and possibly launching. 9am - 3pm Jetski Course running in conjunction with Sunday club sailing. Mon 7th Dec: King Salmon Wardroom, kitchen. 8am -4.30pm. Meetings and luncheon Fri 11th Dec: King Salmon Wardroom, kitchen and bar plus wharf. 1200 until late (afternoon cruise) Sun 20th Dec: Classroom upstairs, floating wharf, sailor changing rooms and possibly launching. 9am - 3pm Jetski Course running in conjunction with LTS 4.
