Hello. My name is Tom and I am a designer based in London. I am passionate about industrial design and I aspire to make meaningful products to make the present day even more interesting. I enjoy hands on tasks and making things, learning what works and what doesn’t. 2

Viper Bike Light Location: Middlesex University Duration: 10 weeks Client: Swifty Scooters Market: Weekend Warriors 4
Landscaping Weekend warriors are individuals that work hard during the week and play hard at the weekends, participating in activities such as extreme sports. Through research, I studied associated aspects and characteristics. 5
Ideation Using an iterative process, I developed my design ideas through sketches and foam and clay models, exploring the theme of aerodynamics. 6
Rubber Button Dfm The concept was detail designed to create Top mating bosses and rib features that would hold the parts together and contain the circuitry. PCB consisting of charging port, button, LEDs and lithium battery Translucent lens Base 3x Machine screws Rubber Strap 7
Prototype The 3D printed model was fully functional with spray paint finish and equipped with a rubberised strap. 8
Final concept My final design reflects the tough and fearless attitude of a weekend warrior. The chosen materials make it impact and weather resistant, fitting comfortably into a rugged and outdoor lifestyle. 9

Analysis My process began by exploring 30 different ideas, each inspired and supported by a range of insights. I selected the concepts with potential, refining them using sketches and testing prototypes. 11
Ideation Following my initial concepts and prototypes, I further explored men’s hair styling, developing designs and foam models that demonstrated a bond between the product and the user’s hand. 12
Final concept My final design ‘Flow’ redefines the common hair dryer by eliminating the handle, making it lighter and easier to hold. The removable power cable makes storage effortless and more presentable. 13
Dyson Kettle Location: Middlesex University Duration: 5 weeks Brand: Dyson 14
Final concept My finished design has strong connections to Dyson’s products through both form and colour. By using ABS plastic, my design can easily be manufactured and distributed. 15
Corvette Gear Stick Location: Middlesex University Duration: 5 weeks Brand: Chevrolet Corvette 16
