GoDaddy Acquires Poynt Prahsant Nedungadi Angie Costales VP & GM of Enterpise Business Head of Sales and BD, North America “Going forward, I want to assure you that Poynt will continue to support our products and partnerships” - Letter from CEO Osama Bedier PAGE 5
Why did GoDaddy Acquire Poynt? Why did GoDaddy buy Poynt? GoDaddy is a leader with online merchant websites. Poynt would give them the ability to drive online payments through those websites and provide a terminal for instore payments. Who is GoDaddy competing with? My assumption is groups like Stripe, Shopify, Paypal and Adyen are at the top of their list. Why those companies? Because these groups dominate online/ecommerce payments and GoDaddy saw an opportunity to own revenue they’re missing out on. If GoDaddy can own their clients websites payments and also provide an in-person terminal, they will have a huge advantage over their competitors with a strong ecosystem. PAGE 6
What does this mean for Resellers? Should I be scared and is there anything in it for me? No, don't be scared and, yes, there are items in it for you. GoDaddy offers a wide range of products that continue to enhance ease and access. We are the experts and can help them understand what we need, and what merchants need, to succeed. Boomtown is one of Poynt's largest partners and they value our partnership What does this mean long term? There may be more features that coincide with ‘Poynt Payfac’ and work to inspire resellers to board directly through Poynt processing. I also see Poynt becoming more tied to their original mission as a hardware agnostic, software platform vs an actual hardware/terminal provider. Final thoughts The acquisition allows Poynt to expand in all parts of their organization to help support resellers and merchants better. I’m excited that GoDaddy will be able to provide more resources going forward. GoDaddy is a strong company and this is the best outcome. PAGE 7
