The sun periods were brief, but the showers persisted and sadly for the reminder of the grades, both at Marchant Park and Kianawah Park, the Finals had to be abandoned. At Marchant Park, whilst the scores were low, the Day was Long as teams battled the elements to ensure a result was achieved in the late afternoon. For the record, in B1N, Peninsula (85) def. Gujju Lions (75)m whilst in B2N, Blue Spartans (6/78 defeated Tailenders (76). The efforts of our Grounds Staff and the support given by players and Umpires and Canteen Staff at both Marchant Park and Kianawah Park, was greatly appreciated. Saturdays = Junior and Senior Competitions Sundays (Fortnightly) = Senior Competitions WINTER JUNIOR GRADES: Warehouse Cricket continues to encourage the development of a Junior competition which is played on Saturday afternoons. In 2017 there were 62 Junior teams from U/13 to U/16 from such diverse regions as the Sunshine and Gold Coast and Ipswich. Whilst young girls already participate in the Junior competition, provided that there are sufficient teams nominating, a girls’ Junior competition is being offered on Sundays. (Page 4). Eligibility Date for Age: 01 September 2017. (In short, if a player was eligible to play in an age group in Summer, 2017/2018, then that same player is eligible to play in that age group in Winter 2017. 2018 GIRLS WINTER LEAGUE With the support of Qld Cricket, Warehouse Cricket is fostering the establishment of a Winter Girls Competition at Kalinga Park (Clayfield) on Sunday Mornings. The Coordinator of the Competition is Robert Bailey robert@tasc.net.au 0411 222 684.
