One of the highlights this time of the year is the OLPH Jr. Basketball
Camp. There are four hundred children with their parents learning
the basics of basketball. I stopped by last week and was blown away
by the energy in the Playdium. Thanks to all those who make this
possible, teaching kids the basics of dribbling to layups. Wish I could
have had such a program when I was their age. To the legion of
volunteers and to the generous benefactors - Thank You!
One of the great outreaches of OLPH is a group of women who knit
hats, scarves and blankets. Given the recent severe cold weather,
these warm products can make all the difference for the homeless
and those in shelters. To Barbara Flynn, Regina Kilroy, Esther
Behnke and so many others thank you!! Our Sharing Parishes and
the Glenview Police department are particularly essential to the
distribution of these goods.
