www.rochedalespringwood.qld.lions.org.au N.O.W. LIONS GLOBAL CAUSES As we know, as Lions, we strive to fulfil our commitment to the global causes of Childhood Cancer, Diabetes, The Environment, Hunger and Vision. To help with VISION we collect used eye glass – This month we delivered 1000 pairs of spectacles to the recycling centre in Clontarf. Our most recent challenge is to help protect the ENVIRONMENT. To that end we help plant trees in revegetation areas and now collect used tags off food wraps, plastic pens and plastic bottle tops. All the plastic pens and tops are recycled for use as soft base for children's outdoor play space, and the plastic tags recycled as wheelchairs. Thanks to all Lions who are doing their bit to help others in times of need and keep up collecting those pieces of plastic. Lion Sandra Smith (Please hand in your collections at the Dinner Meeting) Children of Courage Awards The "motto" for the Lions Children of Courage Awards is: “Aiming for the Stars” We are very proud to support this wonderful program with several courageous young people to be awarded at the Yurana Community Hall. 129 Dennis Rd Springwood on Saturday afternoon, 22 May 2021, 1.00pm.
