Super Full Blood Moon Eclipse 26 May
Total lunar eclipses are also sometimes called Blood Moons because of
the reddish-orange glow the Moon takes on during the eclipse. On the day
of the eclipse, the Full Moon will be closest to the Earth, so it may look a
larger in the sky, making it a Blood Super Moon eclipse. The entire
eclipse will be visible from start to end.

International Peace Essay Contest
Created to give an opportunity for visually impaired young people to express their
feelings of peace, the International Essay Contest is a staple of Lions clubs around the
world. Lions work with local schools and area families to identify young people who
are interested in participating and who could benefit from this program. One grand
prize winner will receive an award and US$5,000.

  LIONS GLOBAL CAUSES
As we know, as Lions, we strive to fulfil
                                           our commitment to the global
                                           causes of Childhood Cancer, Diabetes,
                                           The Environment, Hunger and Vision.

To help with VISION we collect used eye
glass – This month we delivered 1000
pairs of spectacles to the recycling centre
                                           in Clontarf.

Our most recent challenge is to help
                                           protect the ENVIRONMENT.
To that end we help plant trees in
revegetation areas and now collect used tags off food wraps, plastic pens and
plastic bottle tops. All the plastic pens and tops are recycled for use as soft
base for children's outdoor play space, and the plastic tags recycled as
  wheelchairs.

Thanks to all Lions who are doing their bit to help others in times of
need and keep up collecting those pieces of plastic.
