National Adelaide Hills Convention Centre, Lutheran Hahndorf 29 Aug – 1 Sept 2021 Principal Conference 2021 Embracing our Past, Inspiring our Future LUTHERAN PRINCIPALS AUSTRALIA ‘Building Leadership Capacity’
Message from the Chair Since 1838, Hahndorf has played an important role in the German and Lutheran story in Australia. In and around Hahndorf, there is a deep and rich heritage in many places, people and practices, which has had an enduring influence on this story. We all experienced various levels of personal, professional and community challenge and change during 2020 as we faced and then responded to the COVID-19 global pandemic. We have been fortunate that we were able to postpone our National Lutheran Principals’ Conference and maintain the essence of the original theme, which has at its heart a story of change. The 2021 National Lutheran Principal’s Conference, with the theme “Embracing the Past, Inspiring our Future”, will enable us to explore how our heritage provides a compass and touchstone for our current practices, how these practices embed a legacy for our future and how looking into “If you want to that future can inspire and shape our leadership and schools. know what God As we explore this theme, we will be informed, affirmed and challenged. wants you to do, The range of speakers, seminars and practical experience will enable ask Him, and He conference delegates to encounter and contemplate the interplay will gladly tell you” between past, present and future, and as we contemplate and engage with each other, it will also be important to recognise God’s wisdom in any - James 1:5. considerations and determinations we make. “If you want to know what God wants you to do, ask Him, and He will gladly tell you, for He is always ready to give a bountiful supply of wisdom to all who ask Him; He will not resent it.” - James 1:5. By having the conference in Hahndorf, we return to some of the roots of the engagement and influence of Lutheran tradition upon the cultural, religious and educational landscape in Australia. It is an engagement and influence that can continue to make an inspiring difference into the future. I warmly encourage and strongly recommend your attendance at the National Lutheran Principal Conference in late August 2021. Craig Fielke Chair, Lutheran Principals Australia
