Updated Guidance in Response to Omicron • Due to the high transmissibility of the Omicron variant, all cases of COVID-19 are being managed as if it is the Omicron variant • As a result, all close contacts, regardless of vaccination status, of individuals who test positive for COVID-19 will be required to: • Self-Isolate • Go for Testing • Self-Monitor for Symptoms

Provincial Guidance in Response to Omicron • December 15th, 2021 - , a new process to provide enhanced COVID-19 vaccine certificates with QR code for individuals who have an eligible medical exemption or are participating in an active, Health Canada Approved COVID-19 vaccine clinical trial. • December 20, 2021, proof of vaccination with be required for youth aged 12 to 17 years of age to participate in organized sports and recreational facilities. • January 4, 2022, Ontario will begin requiring the use of the enhanced vaccine certificate with QR code and the Verify Ontario app in settings where proof of vaccination is required. • January 4, 2022, at 9:00 a.m., individuals aged 18 and over will be eligible to schedule their booster dose. • Delaying the lifting of proof of vaccination requirements beyond January 17, 2022. • Increasing rapid antigen testing in schools and long-term care homes. • Additional workplace safety measures.
Adults Age 50+ Now Eligible for COVID-19 Booster • As of Monday, December 13th, • individuals aged 50 and over are eligible to book a booster dose. • As of January 4, 2022, • Individuals over the age of 18 will be eligible to book a booster dose. • Book online at: www.covidvaccinelm.ca
Medical Officers of Health Recommendations for the Holiday Season • Everyone should limit indoor social gatherings in private dwellings to no more than 10 people. All attendees 12 years of age and older should be vaccinated. • All unvaccinated individuals 12 years of age and older should avoid any non-essential indoor contact with individuals who are not part of their household. • Where possible, individuals should work remotely. • See the media release and joint letter linked in the e-newsletter
COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Clinics • To meet the demand for COVID-19 immunization, MLHU will be expanding COVID-19 vaccination capacity – January 4th, 2022: Mount Brydges will expand to Tuesday-Saturday, 11:00am – 6:00pm – January 6th, 2022: Earl Nichols Recreation Centre will reopen. Monday- Friday 10:00am-5:00pm
Flu in Middlesex-London The first case of influenza was reported last week.
